Hey Geoff what was the balance leaning towards the VT400. Have ridden a 650 and found them not bad i must admit but really needed another gear at about 80 k,s. Haven,t rode the 400 as yet ,was going to on our August ride but time slipped away. So would be good to hear your reasons ,glad of course that you did. ;D You will come across some 400,s when there is a ride on and also we have a member on a 650. I think you would be the 6th now in Qld members to own a 400 .Not all ride at the same time as you can understand. Oh and hope a good day was had last week on your birthday . Cheers Ray

G;day All, Thanks very much for the great welcome!! RayD (Trish/Ray) - looks like I will have the new beast before the next ride, so time permitting - I'll definitely be onboard! Ray As for bike choice - I felt more at ease and comfortable on the VT400 over the 650. The whole VT400 experience was just smooth - started 1st go, felt refined, gearbox felt good and well, to be honest I just kind of clicked with the bike (does that make sense?). On the 650 I just felt awkward for some reason - couldn't pinpoint the exact reason... Mac - thanks for the offer mate, will keep that in mind! See you out and about soon! Geoff. The clicking on the bike makes perfect sense mate. Just how i felt on my first rideof the VT 750 . Hadn't ridden for a good 30 yrs plus and the day after my 50th when i got the bike for a pressie it felt that i had only ridden the day before. Just pure gold mate pure gold Cheers Ray
