So i left saturday, ready for a nice big ride, to howqua, near mansfield, was all going great, grand fantastic, so I get pulled over, which hasnt happened to me before, guess ive been lucky, anyway, turns out as i bought my helmet from america, it doesnt have the correct sticker, minus 3 demerit points and $240, arrive at destination, dirt road ~5k, make it to the end without dropping it or wetting myself, couple days later head over to avenal, near seymour, another nice dirt road, still no drop, feeling good, had to leave the bike outside, and i dont have a cover rain starts the next day, soaks everything and makes the ground the kickstand is on fall away, bike falls onto rocks next to it, bending the gear peddle and my handlebars appear to be twisted, but i cant for the life of me work out where.... ride home today was not smiled upon by whoever controls the weather.. AND! I still loved it all!!!

Damn mate that is very sad to hear. Least you weren,t on it when it toppled. Good thing to keep in mind i think is to have a kikstand pad somewhere on you or the bike. That way if you even think there is a chance of rain you can put it under the stand. Just a piece of metal 3 or 4'' round would do. Where i park my bike at work i have a bit always there in case of said prob. The handle bars are most likely twisted at the tree. Not real mech minded but i think you can twist them back by loosening the bolts and retwisting the forks . Sure Simon or someone else will say if this right or wrong. Much the same as doing a pushy. Glad it hasn,t dented your will to ride . Nothing better being out on the back roads but be carefull on the gravel mate. Very unforgiving. Cheers Ray

If it just topled over then chances are it's your handle bars. Best way is to look from the front and see which side is out. The other way is to sit on the bike with your hands on the bars and tell by feel which is higher, lower etc. Your lucky though that you didn't dent your tank. That would have been an expensive. I keep one of these in my satchel bags in case I have to park on dirt or grass.

yeah im relatively sure its just the handle bars, ill get to fixing that maybe tomorrow or something, also thinking of just getting one of these instead of getting the gear peddle fixed www.badpennycustoms.com.au/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=106_262&products_id=270 I'll post photos of what's wrong with the peddle tomorrow. yeah very lucky about the tank, and the engines fine aswell, very very few scatches, all things considered i got out of it lightly

To answer my own question, theres a dude on the netrider forums called 'FireRed' that claims to sell them for about $2. Anyone a member? I'm not paying $10 to join to buy a $2 sticker

umm, sounds a little dodgy to me. I'm sure they're dodgy, but since my helmet is locally purchased and is approved I think I have a solid case for 'replacing' the sticker. Our young friend with the import helmet on the other hand would be fine at a glance, but an insurance company or cop with a beef would go to town.
