Time to report on the ride to Bathurst, Cray and I planned to leave Dubbo at 8:45am to meet up with Owie and Verticalc at Bathurst Maccas. So we left Dubbo at 9:38am and that meant no smoko's for me every hour or so We got to Maccas only bout 10-15 mins late, only to find out that there's two macca's in Bathurst (I never knew that). Luckily Owie and Verticalc decided that we would go to the western one, and we met them there. (I got ya messages when I got home Vertical, good idea having a phone with ya, I just gotta learn to check it )
So we headed into town to Eli's for lunch, some Harley's had already taken all the parking spots in front of the cafe so we headed round the corner (following Cray, he promised not to get us lost), and then he did a U-Turn to park in front of a church, nope I'm not doing a U-Turn, I parked half a mile up the road, I dont mind walking.
First thing Owie did was start taking photos, while Cray and Vertical had a chat bout bikes ....
And should you park this in front of a church on a Sunday ?
Lunch at Eli's was good, and the girls were nice, even took a photo for us, ya know the type, obligatory posed group pic
So all coffee'd up we headed to look at the fabled mountain, after Cray only took us up one wrong road we made it to pit lane, and I just got excited and over took him, will probably be the only time in my life
I made them all stop at the top of mountain so I could get pics and check out the view.
Oh yeah and to talk bout bikes again ...
So I gave Cray the camera, after giving him a flying lesson on how to the exact shot I want of moving bikes going throught the esses, and off he went. We waited a bit and then took off, to pass Cray leaning against the concrete wall in the perfect spot for pics with no camera ready ... oh well we went round again and lo and behold Cray was gorn. So no action shots this time, ah well I was crawling round those bends anyways so not so much action. I found Owie and Vertical waiting at the entrance to pit lane ( I wouldnt be surprised if they went into town and grabbed another cuppa while they waited for me to get to the bottom ). I loved riding round the race track tho, even if it was leisurley.
Finally Cray turned up, Owie figured he couldnt get lost on a circuit, and he was right.
Owie picked the perfect spot for some pics, and made me to a U-Turn
He was right tho, was a good spot for pics.
And the perfect chance to chat again, bout bikes again guys?
Ok everyone line up for obligatory posed shot again ....
Was a great day, Cray and I really enjoyed meeting you guys, thanks for making the trip ... specially Owie who came an extra 1 1/2 hours before he joined up with Vertical. Hope ya didnt get home too late Owie.
