Hi Shadow Riders, I am thinking about selling my 1972 Kawasaki H1B 500 Triple I have had the bike since 1976 and am the second owner. I purchased it when I was sixteen in Adelaide. 25 years or so ago I parked the bike in the garage covered it with plastic sheets and blankets and left it there. I thought about getting it going for my 50th ie refurbishing it but not being mechanically inclined purchased my Honda VT Shadow C2 brand new in 2009 instead. So I wheeled the Kawasaki out and took some photos of it on it's own and with my new Honda. It's all there simply stopped riding for 25 or so years until I was 5O as per my original posting when I joined Shadow Riders. Does anyone know what it may be worth the bike is now 40 years old and very rare I have not seen one in years of this model. Thought I might put it out there amongst my fellow Shadow riders then maybe put it on Bikesales.com etc. Would welcome any comments/interest. Best Greyshadow

That is an absolute piece of beauty, and looks to be in incredibly good nick, don't know what it's worth but with the current rage for cafe style bikes and rebuilds I would hold out for a bloody good price............

I did a bit a quick google search on it Greyshadow and from what I can see, that model is one of the better years that came out? And it also seems to be pretty damn rare!! It's in such great condition and if I had the mechanical know how I'd almost be tempted myself. (Cept Cray would have a fit ;D)
Good luck with it all. Isnt it just a bit heart wrenching to sell something like that?

Hey Anastasia, Yes it is, guess that's why I couldn't part with it for all these years. But Nothing stays the same for ever we only borrow things for a while. It's probably best to go to someone who can bring her back to life and appreciate the old girl. Rather than sit there in the garage under blankets deteriorating. Please find below photo of my self my, my teenage, first love and the bike. Best Greyshadow.

Hi Mrsumo, No Carmel was my first love when I was between the age of 15 and 18. The photo I think was taken in 1976-77 when I was around 17. My wife (Linda) and I met in 1982 30 years ago the photo attached is on a overnight run back in 82. Linda and the bike. Best Greyshadow

Rayd my dad had a 500 supersport as well. I've been looking for one for years to restore. Nice bike Greyshadow I don't think I could let that go at any price.

Those are classic photos Greyshadow!!! Yes you are right, you have to let go eventually, and I'd say you've had a goodish run with that baby, time to move on eh I tell you I've looked for that bike everywhere and wow hard to find or what .. have you tried talking to a classic bike dealer about value. Did find this www.centralmotorcycles.com.au/shop/item/kawasaki-h2 Which is the next model after yours isnt it? And that one isnt in as good condition as yours, they're asking 7.5k. You may be sitting on a little gold mine there.

Hey vic members - do you recall the 'bikes by the bay' show a few months back? Inside the shed, in one of the corners was a bike club who had vintage looking 3 cylinder bikes. We're they this type? If so maybe the williamstown mc have contact details that would help mr grey shadow out.

Have you tried running it? I would have thought $5000 Someone with mechanical smarts would love it. They are becoming popular and it has historical value as well. Don't give it away. Cheers

Wow. Beautiful. 500cc 2stroke triple. An absolute rocket, very quick. She's a beauty Greyshadow. Very collectable and wouldn't take much to get running at all. Even after all these years.
