As posted by Clarry in another forum "old riders pick a direction" (paraphrasing a bit I admit) ..well , today I picked East . Rode from my digs to Northam , which was the closest decent fuel stop , then on to Meckering , down the Meckering to Goomaling Road ( try this one , it's a good ride ) then down through Toodyay , back to Northam and home . All up about 200ks in the gorgeous WA sunshine . Oddly enough it sort of worked out as a series of short stints of around 40k's each ... which was good considering the bugs. Here's some pics : My Shadow and an abandoned farmhouse just out of Goomaling.. Main Street Goomaling 2pm Sunday..busy isn't it?? Even my lunch loves me today.... hehehe 40k's in the Wheatbelt = 4 million bugs... I feel sorry for those who ride open face... The town hall of one of the many abandoned towns in the WA Wheatbelt and "that" bike again Connors Mill Toodyay..and "that" bike ..ummm again Cheers Trog

hi Troggy, looks like you had a good day. any ride that stops at the Go cafe is always a good one. pity you were alone. I see you had a " friend" at the cafe parked right at the door! Have you ever tried heading west from here?? its impossible ! hahaha.

Had an amazing day Angel ... would have been better if there were others but it was a spur of the moment thing. Oddly enough , I can go West from where I live ...it's called going back down to Perth for work . I do that 120km round trip there and back every day of the working week which is the main reason why my bike hit 24000km's in the 9 months Ive owned it . I know you city dwellers don't have the West option though..unless you want to swim to Africa....hehehe. And yep , I do love riding ...

Great ride report & photos troglett. I spent 12 months in Perth back in 1985 during our America's Cup defence. Love the place. So many nice places to visit on the weekends. From memory, some of my favourites were Rockingham, Lancelin, Mundaring Wier and New Norcia. Wish I rode a bike back then. Anyway, here in Sydney it's hard to pick east as a direction because 15 minutes puts me in the Pacific Ocean so a swap to a jet ski would be necessary.

surprised the Go cafe was empty,Lee always does a good feed, and he's very 'pro bike',need to get out there again! Good ride mate.
Edit: just noticed the tables outside, and it looks a bit late too,so was probably busy earlier

Looks like a good day troglett - love solo runs.
Nice pics as well.
Did the Gofer rider at the Cafe challenge you to a drag down the main street?
