Ok, after a couple of drops, one while riding through the twisties on the Black Spur...fortunately not serious and at low speeds, I think it's time to get crash/highway bars fitted. Besides, I think they look sexy. I've tried Googling them, but I can't seem to see any specific for the VT400 and wondered if there was much difference with the 750 compatible frames? Does anyone know if these are easy enough to fit myself (as I am definitely not mechanically minded, by the way, so "idiot friendly" is what I'm asking...and I live in a secure apartment block with a "space" for parking...i.e. no garage)? Also, what could I expect to pay for a decent set with rests, and what is a reasonable price to pay for installation if I were to get it done professionally? Basically, can you tell me absolutely everything there is to know about them...not asking a lot, am I? Had a lot of great advice (and good links to look at), much appreciated guys. Simon> Now that you're back, I'd appreciate your thoughts on the above also...

There are many different ones around. Try to get ones that are single tubed and mandrel bent as they will be stronger than some that are just welded pieces.
We sell Ledrie engine/highway bars. These are chrome and 32mm in diametre. You can then add on either footpegs (for greater comfort when riding on highways etc) or use them to mount auxillary lights / sportlights. Ours are $335 plus postage.
