Hi all, A recent bargain I bought has struck a hitch. I scored a 750 Shadow sissy bar and rack on Gumtree. It was cheap and I thought it was well worth the hike down to Rockingham and back and I was stoked that it is still in top nick. I brought it home and fired up the CNC machine to make a black plastic mask for the chrome plate behind the back pad. It gives the appearance of a chrome Honda 'H', a nice touch I thought, see the pics. So next it was time to fit it and I removed the saddlebags and then #@*k!!! There is no way it is going to fit my Shadow ACE, it must be for a non ACE model - bugger! Before it goes back on Gumtree again I will offer it here to our local members for almost what it owes me.....It's available here in Ballajura for $100, I've ordered a replacement on Ebay. Cheers Gwyn

Cheers Louie, I think the blank spot behind the back pad lends itself to more CNC cut 'bling', I'm going to have a play with some more designs soon.
I think you are right Moe this rack is probably for an Aero, the one I've ordered on Ebay has the curved bars as you say...

That's tough Gwyn what does CNC stand for? Hi Fred, CNC = Computer Numerical Control. I have a computer controlled router/mill/engraver. It's an awesome machine that I've had for about 3 years now and it's become a hobby in itself! I design stuff in CAD and the machine cuts it out. You can see some of the stuff I make at my website - www.aerosimsolutions.com.au I build flight simulators and racecar sims amongst other stuff. I'm a fitter/machinist by trade so I've made my shed into a machine shop complete with aircon and a beer fridge! Cheers Gwyn

yep definately an Aero model like Moes mate. Straight rail ,dead giveaway. Make sure you get the curved one. Though it is mighty wide so could even be of a bigger shadow . Set it up against Moes or another members for size .

Hey Gwyn, Before you put it up on Gumtree , have a search on ebay for Kakahealthcare in Hong Kong ..this looks remarkably like on of their sissybars , I've bought two off them for my Shadows , still running one now . They can probably hook you up with the correct arms to make it fit your ACE , maybe not but it might worth a try as that would look really sweet . Trog

G'day Gwyn,
With a shed like that. I'm surprised you haven't made some brackets up to suit the bike. It's not that hard, and there is a good chromer just down the road in Malaga.

Trog Thanks Troglett but I've already ordered a new one! Hi Louie, it did cross my mine to modify it but the new one is only $145 delivered so I'll only be $45 out of pocket. I still have a long list of customer orders to deal with and that keeps the pocket money coming in! I'm thinking about doing some custom badges for bikes as a sideline, more on that later... Cheers Gwyn

Here's a sample, this is machined from 3mm aluminium plate, I made it for my last car which was a VE SS Commodore... I've already made some "VT 750" badges for the Shadow, I'll get a pic of them later... Cheers Gwyn
