Hi folks , The sighting run is done . Louie and I have mapped out a run with a bit of everything starting at Mundaring and ending in Toodyay . A total of 340k's between with only 18 km of major highway and 90% of roads not being the same old tired routes you've ridden every other ride in an Easterly direction. So , if you want to see some of the country that made this country great and see the sheep upon whose back this country rode for 150 years while experiencing pretty much every different kind of road the outback has to offer (excluding gravel and dirt , so don't panic ) this could be the ride for you. Louie will bring the Northies to Mundaring , I'm sure the Southies will join us there via Canning Rd/Mundaring Weir Rd ( at least that's the route I'd use if I was a Southie) More details will follow when I post the ride date. Cheers Trog

well was another good day for a ride here in the west ... mostly hovering around 30-32* all day ... as troggy said above, it was 340k's from start point ( mundairing ) to finish/split up point ( toodjay )... so from my place rtn was about 480k's or so, ( to give an idea metro to metro )... I was there mainly as a second opinion for troggy... he mapped out a lot of different road types, from twisty stuff in the hills to long sweepers in the wheatbelt, ( well done troggy ;D ) and we found a cool lunch point, as one of our favorite eateries was closed today...looking forward to the ride date posting...
louie ( one very tired fly ;D )
PS:- I think I have rocks in my head... 12 days on the road with trailer in toe ... 8,000 or so k's....back to work for 5 days..another 1,000-1,200 k's in the cab... then another 1,000 or so k's on the bike with two rides this week end ( greyshadow's ride being about 560 or so k's from home to home )... not to mention this weeks cab routine starting either tonight or tomorrow arvo.... I'm sure someone sneaked in a frontal lobotomy when I got my cab license ;D

Okey Dokey folkies ... The "Belting The Wheatbelt" ride will be happening , weather permitting, Sunday May 5 .... Louie will be organizing a meet place for the Northies , so I'll let him set that up .. I need someone to do the same for the Southies as everyone will be meeting up with me at Mundaring between 9:30 and 10:00 am for a 10:30 start on the actual ride. When I say weather permitting , Iam of course referring to the weather on this side of the Darling Ranges permitting as that's where we'll be spending most of the day. I can honestly say that it's nothing unusual for me to leave home out here under blue skies and as soon as I get to the Western face of Greenmount find I'm getting wet. I'll post up the final "yay or nay" on Saturday May 4 as by then it will be pretty obvious how things are going to be the next day. If the whole thing washes out , I'll post up another potential date or possibly save it for an early ride next Summer... Cheers Trog

Just read the thread.... those in the north who want to do this ride. Meet up at my place for a leave time of 0930hrs. I will do a small scenic ride to Mundairing, which should put us at Mundairing about 1000. Those who wish to join and don't have my address, just put it in your post when you post your confirmation and I'll PM you my address.
louie.
PS: should be a good ride, as it was pretty good the first time...

Troglett and Louie, Attention Southies, We usually meet at McDonalds in Canning Vale Cnr Ranford Road and Nicholson Road at 9:30am So I suggest as creatures of habit might as well do this in this case however let's make it 9:00 am arrival and depart Canning Vale at 9:15am to ensure we get to Mundaring around 10:00am. Please let me know who will meet at Canning Vale. Thanks looking forward to catching up. Greyshadow
