Seriously thinking of going to the Alice next year around April time. anyone got any experience of that ride from here. anything to do when you get there? Looking at an effing big rock sticking out of the ground doesnt do it for me. But if there is other stuff to do i will definatly consider it

Alice springs seems to be all about the rocks .. um gorges and the Olgas and stuff like that .. or hang out at a resort. Check this site out ... www.travelnt.com/alice-springs-and-surrounds.aspxI haven't been there but it's on my list .. a bit further down since they stopped letting you climb the rock but there's still some pretty things out there to look at if you like red dirt and rocks

Didn't even get to see the Rock as the roads were stuffed. I do remember how flat and straight the road is, Boring, Coober pedy is interesting so was Alice, what we could see anyway. Make sure you work out your fuel and water stops.

Might want to look at Ulysses web site. Their next AGM is the Alice. They may have some links on whats on and around the area.
