Hi I am new to the forum and indeed my Honda Shadow 750, its a 2008 model in showroom condition, very low KMS, but am somewhat disappointed with the performance, I have had it serviced but it seems to lack smoothness and accellaration off the mark. I am located in the Easten Suburbs of Sydney and would like to know if there is a local dealer and or mechanic that knows the Shadows and can be recommended by a member

I am located in the Easten Suburbs of Sydney and would like to know if there is a local dealer and or mechanic that knows the Shadows and can be recommended by a member Warm welcome to you mate. I,m sure a local rider will chime in soon to offer assistance . Me being a far bit north i,m afraid for a change am unable to offer someone. It,s a pity the bike is not very responsive. I imagine you have checked the air filter and plugs. Bad fuel could be your problem. 08 model ,is it carby or fuel injected . CHeck all filters anyhow . If it has a petcock there is a filter there that causes blockages . Could just need a good tune up . Just remember sometimes services ,you dont get done what they say so you have to take it back .Been there done that unfortunately Cheers Ray Gympie QLD

welcome aboard Souths.
Can't make any recommendations because I am in the great land of Victoria.
Like Ray i would check the filters etc.
I have a 2008C2 Shadow Spirit and changed the air filter to a K&N and fitted V & H pipes and that has made a difference. Not a huge amount but it is noticeable.
Hope this helps
Ride safe

Cooee and welcome. I have a new VT400 I got from Action Cycles Parramatta. Only had its 1st service and some hard bags added by them. So far I am happy with what they do. They are a Honda dealership, so maybe they might be able to help. They have a city store that may be closer for you. www.actionmc.com.au/store-location.php?title=CityBTW, its good to see more NSW joining the fold.

Welcome to the board, souths! There's an excellent mechanic in Blacktown. That's probably a bit out of the way, but if you get desperate: www.bikesmith.com.au/He's not cheap, but he does an excellent job & is thorough.

Welcome Souths Looks like there's a couple of solutions here for you, or you could try taking it back to where you got the service done. Good luck with it and hope your out riding again soon

Have not used them yet, about to for some new pipes for my bike. However I have heard a few people mention them. Aslo when I went to chat about the pipes, they were the 1st to actually come out and look at the bike, then ring the different companies and find pipes tried, tested and garanteed to suit my lil ol' 400. www.norwestmotorcycle.com.au/index.htmlAlso in their web speel I noted they support their bosses son's racing, so they should have an idea about performance.

Welcome Souths , new pipes and air filter always helps , if you want more torc a supercharger air filter would help a lot mate hope you enjoy your new ride Ps you may also benefit from a power commander and a tune up. Not a cheap option at all but it won't backfire and you'll get more performance
