I want to add ape hangers to my vt 400 . Does anyone know which ones work for my bike and how high can I have them with my stock cables? Also does anyone know how to attach a spring bobber seat to my bike?

Send a message to Pete in Tasmania about the seat.
Not sure on how high you can go. One thing though, it was mentioned to me that bars that put your arms above shoudler height are not too flash on long rides. Blood flow is impeded and you get pins and needles in the hands (something to consider).
Kon though, if I recall rides a 750C with ape hangers.

Pete has done the seat but I'm not sure how much he's looking at the forums lately .. you could try sending him a pm. I do know that he hated that seat by the time he got to Dubbo from Tassie in March .. actually we all know how much he hated that seat I'm hoping you aren't planning to do any long trips with a spring seat and ape hanger bars .. doesn't sound very comfy at all

just something im mulling over but you can't have apes higher than your shoulders legally Gonzo and i'm rethinking the seat Annastasia , i was concerned about it and I doubt you can connect a pillion seat with a spring seat , and i do long rides a lot . Oddly enough I've had apes in the past and find them more comfortable than regular bars......only downside is being tured into a human sail on really windy days .....also Annastasia are there any rides on soon? , i haven't been to one with you guys (& Gals) yet and cant find info on any

NSW tends to be a bit light on for rides atm, Cray and I don't really ride with others or organise much as we live 4-5 hours away from nearly everyone. We have met a few coastal ppl at Bathurst once and took a spin round the mountain with them. That was fun and I was thinking of doing something like that again soon, hopefully before the end of the year. There are few members joining up from round your area zombie, why don't you post up a ride and see if you can get some of them together Personally I wouldn't find ape hangers comfy but then I had to get my bars moved when I first got the bike just so I could reach them Good luck with it, don't reckon they would be hard to do, and don't forget the pics when you do it !

Hi mate. I have just done ape hangers on my 750. I put on 14 inch bars with risers as well. I had to add 12 inches to all cables and lines except throttle. you could get away with 12inch bars. Just be prepared to fork out for cables.
