Hi all, I've unfortunately had a change of circumstances and I'm selling my lovely and fabulous Shadow.... I've changed my AGM status to "probably" and although, I'm all paid on the spirit I'm still unsure if I'll make it. I'll know more by end of December.
I feel that my bike may sell quickly not that I'm in a rush to sell her, it's more a case of needing to..but not wanting to. The boat is also up for sale and it looks like I might have it sold tomorrow (bloke travelling 4hrs just to look at it) but as with all things being sold...it's never sold until the money is in the bank.
The upshot is: I've been offered a well built and very nice quality cruising sail boat at a ridiculously cheap price but need off load some assets to purchase it, hence the 'fire' sale. I'm not about to 'give' my bike or boat away so I'll not sell other than the advertised price. Thus, if I don't get my advertised price I'll NOT sell either...so here's to not selling and seeing all at the AGM or selling and spending more time sailing lol
I do hope you all understand. I'll invest in a Shadow again in the future (unless I need a bigger boat lol) because shadow's are a fantastic cruiser... but for now sailing beckons Pete

I know how you feel pete, im an old sea dog myself, used to have a 35ft ocean racing yacht, 12 years ago, spent 2 years fully restoring it, I do miss sailing, but the move to Toowoomba has seen me lose any thoughts of reigniting my sailing pleasures in the future due to lack of ocean nearby, so I participate in my other love of riding, if I won lotto id move to tassie buy a yacht and my new indian , have a house overlooking the marina , no not marina because marinas are very noisy like living next to a busy railway station , due to all the tink tink of he guy ropes hitting the masts.oh id be havin , martinis for supper with pete.

Good luck with selling, I can already feel the wind in my face. Cheers Paul.

Hi Pete Tis a shame to have to sell things sometimes but you do have to follow your heart .. go for it and I wish you all the best in getting your new boat I reckon since you are already booked on the spirit you should still come to the AGM, I don't mind if you take my baby on a ride with the guys .. tho i've already offered the same to Ray if he can't ride down so ya may have to fight home for it Seriously tho you could do that, I can just jump on with cray for a ride or two.

Hi Pete. Mate you have done well down there in Tassie Isle trying your darndest to promote SRA. For that alone you should be commended. The vids you have enlightened us with to make all here jealous of you living on the Apple Isle have been great to watch .So thanks Pete for being an exemplary member. I can fully understand your motivation in this matter ,as i have been very close of late to doing the same . Fortunately i hope my circumstances have now changed ,fingers crossed . So go with your heart mate and go for it . As some here have already said ,the invite to the AGM is still fully opened iff you can do the dates . You will have to be around one day however to tour us around the Isle . So having said that ,please stay in contact . We would like to hear of your high seas exploits . Cheers Ray ,Trish

G'Day Pete All the very best with your new venture - as humans we have to follow our dreams otherwise there is not a lot of point to living unless we accept mediocrity. I suspect that many of us on this forum are following our own dreams cruising on our Shadows. Having spent 20 years in Pt Lincoln and much of my recreational hours on the water (even in sail boats and races) I can understand the itch that needs to be scratched. Keep safe and keep the pointy bit up (as opposed to keeping the rubber side down) Cheers ... Mark
