....been havin't he same problem Kingy - Crusin' along at 120kmph and then realise there's another gear.....controlling the power hasn't been a problem until this morning's rain - just a slightly fast take off at the lights and the arse end is fish-tailing all over the place - and not because of the painted white line.

Know that feeling well Kingy, 2 up on the Shadow gave me about 120 tops - even with the change in sprocket combination and the iridium plugs. Don't get me wrong - the Shadow is a brilliant bullet proof bike and just the thing I needed when switching from sports to cruisers - just such a different ride and skill set required.
The bike provided me with an opportunity to learn about cruiser riding and control and was absolutley brilliant around town - just lacked a little on the open road - always looking for another gear. I just needed to step up in bike size and the Road Star is everything I'm looking for.

I know, I know, it's the copper in me that wants to say it...and I can't refrain...."just be safe all." I do understand where having the necessary power IS a safer thing, but I'm obliged to say just stay legal on the roads (those limits were determined by people far smarter than me...despite what media sales hype wants you to believe). However, now I've done my "advisory" part, what you do in your own time is entirely up to you...

Yeah WG...got my first speeding ticket today - offense occurred the day after I picked up the bike - 67kmph in a 60 zone - just gotta watch that power. ...and I don't need warning - after > 30 years in hospital trauma - I know all about speed / alcohol / stupid riding.

yeh i spent 8 months in a hospital bed and 9 months in a wheel chair from a motorcycle accedent... its not the speed that i want out of a bike.. its beeing able to sit on 110 or 120 on the motorway without the bike sounding like its about to explode....

kph.... yes it can do 120 but if u wanna over take someone while doing 120 u have to give it to it 500m before hand just to get enough pick up to get around... they are really gutless....
i have a 160cc motor in my postie and its quicker then my shadow
