Folks, after a few day rides lately I'm considering adding a wind shield to my ride. I'm not a fan of the look but sometimes comfort comes before form. So anyway I saw these ones on ebay and just wondered if anyone has an opinion on them. The price is certainly right. Here's the actual ad link

Think Steve got one for Pam's 400. Not top shelf but does the job. Probably good for the long trips and take off for general riding.

So one more question people. The add states, and I quote "Installation Instruction and Mounting Hardware NOT INCLUDE" From this I assume there will be no diagrams to show me how to fit the shield. The pictures on ebay just show a bundle of rods & fittings. Do you think working it out will be easy or a nightmare?

I looked at that particular shield and I thought, that without the hardware it would be a PITA to try and manufacture some

The hardware looks generic and could probably be sorted out. Just looks like clamps to me. Not sure about the L shaped rods, if they are the allen keys supplied, they must not have confidence in the tools. So saying, I have bought stuff from this company and was ok. That being a sissy bar and rack for my wifes Suzuki vl250 Intruder. Had to dummy a couple of spacers, but went on OK.

I have also bought a rack from them & I also had to dummy spacers. The rods are actually part of the mounting system that goes from the handlebar to the shield "check out the first image I posted". I guess I would work it out.

Well the shield finally turned up and I managed to attach it without too much trouble. Despite kakahealthcare saying it didn't come with instructions, there were 3 sheets of printed material in the box that gave you a basic idea of how to do it. The shield itself was not perfectly symmetrical. One bottom edge turned in while the other turned out. I guess this is what you get when you decide to spend $130 instead of $300 on a product. Anyway by the time I had bolted it on it had flexed back closer to an even shape. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. Here are some pics of before and after the shield.

Not bad Clary. You beet me to tell you to ring Steve up about fitting said shield. Anyhow you did and that's great. Just saying here but you could get some tint sheeting and put some colour to it that way if you know what I mean. Cheers Ray
