Hi All,
I am a new member looking for some advice from the experienced VT owners.
I have a 2010 VT750S that I have bought new, one look at the bike and I had to own it.
Since new I made a few minor changes, Open air clean (K&N type), Moriwaki pipes. What I am looking for is advice on tuning options.
The research done so far is as follows.
1: Cobra FI2000R, direct from Cobra not suitable for Australia.
2: Magnum Dyno Boost, these guys have been helpfull and happy to communicate. But I need to isolate the O2 Sensors. They also had not heard of Moriwaki pipes. So at this stage that is not an option.
3: Dynojet have also been good, but they don't have any maps for Moriwaki pipes, only straight through pipes. The Moriwaki's are baffelled pipes, again this would mean also running their O2 Sensor tuning boxes, one for each pipe taking the purchase up over $700, really not worth it for the gain
The one thing that surprises me is that it would appear the US don't have Moriwaki as an option. The Australian Honda Catalogue show them as an option. So this could just be a local/Asian market item.
What are others doing in regards to changing the tuning of their PGM-FI VT750's. Has anybody used item like the Dynojet Power Commander?
Hoping somebody has walked this path already.
Thanks for reading, John.

Hi mate. Surprised no one have got back to you on this. The power commander 5 Is ment to work well. Needs dynoed after that. Gets the mapping right. Wish I was on the computer but having trouble there at the moment. , so my my pH with limited access. I think another one suitable for these bikes is the Go pro 2000 from memory. That's why I wish the puter was working, have all my links there. This one doesn't require dynoing after mapping it from what I've read. You can spend a lot of money to get little hp in return so one has to weigh all that up. Most say after doing the filter, pipes, hypercharger, one may only get about 10 hp in return. I did the 4deg mod on my 09. Gave me more pulling power I reckon . So i, m happy at that Hope this helps. Must admit I haven't heard of those pipes either. Must look it up. Cheers Ray Gympie QLD

When I had my 750 it was a carby model so cant really help you. I fitted a COBRA Fi2000 Fuel Processor to my VTX1800 which made a huge difference. Good luck and enjoy your ride

Thanks for the replies guys. From what i can see the aftermarket computers from the US need the O2 Sensors removed/disabled. that does not appeal to me at all. But the Californian models keep the O2 sensors, so that might be the ticket, the Californian model are like Aus and Europe. Ok the Moriwaki's, what can i say, they sound fantastic. like nothing else on the VT750s. they are all stainless and baffled/spark arrested but not restrictive like the standard pipes and weigh next to nothing. Link to their site is hear: www.moriwaki.co.jp/global/product/ex.php?maker=HONDA&model=VT750SI don't see the link to the Moriwaki's on the Honda website any more, but they were in the catalog when i bought the bike new in 2012. i would be interested in knowing more about the 4 deg timing change, i am also looking at trying the IAT sensor mod to trick the ECU into thinking the incoming air is cooler, only down side is that the IAT sensor is now built into the PGM-FI box on the side of the throttle body and will need to be opened to check the wire needed to be tapped into!. it's a relatively simple mod, wire in a 5K OHM Variable resister and add resistance to trick the temp reading, well that is what the investigation shows so far. this should rich-en up the on throttle cycle. thanks again guys, John.

Thanks Ray, I dropped into JayCar today and picked up a 5K Variable Resistor / pot, $2.35. That will allow me to wind in minor adjustments on the IAT. If you take a look at the Magnum Dyno Boost device, the blue bit with the screw in it, is the same piece. They do other things in the back ground but that is the basics of the device. The goal is to achieve the mod seen here: www.autospeed.com.au/cms/article.html?&A=112726While searching for the cable i came accross this link online, I now have the wire colour and connector location. This will make life easier. www.vt750dc.com/VT750C2-S_C2B.pdfSure, different model VT750 but the same engine and PGM-FI. Very happy to have found it. We are also looking at a second VT750S for the lovely wife, she is still on her L's, she would love to buy an Iron 883, but she loves the VT750S so much and at $8100 new now plus on road, a second one is likely to be in the shed by the end of the year! John.

ive had mine coming up and a half years from new, have done 20k, I have put an eagle beaver bubble small screen tinted that works well on long trips where theres a lot of bugs, I have a ventura rack system fitted, it is custom made for the 750s, I have interchangeable sports rack and bag for short runs, long runs I have the pack rack I have the big venture pack that beats the hell out of saddlebags 5 secomds its all off the bike. my bike has original pipes but when I got new they offered custom pipes as you know from stock they are very quiet, I still have stock pipes, but after first service ,,, well it came home a tad louder. some bloke on gumtree was trying to sell electronic mods a while back for the performance of the vt750s have look there he was in Ipswich, don't use a key ring on youre ignition key when riding, as it will mark the side cover, the vt750s is getting used more regularly for customizing projects, we have a nice example from a member owns in qld.as you have found the vt750s is known as the rs shadow in the usa. ill get 250k to a tank, make sure you have a servo near after this. ill prob go k&n filter next. and im seriously looking at getting a sheepskin seat cover made.
hope this of interest.
