Hello Everyone!
Thought i would join what seems like a very active community! I recently passed my learner permit and just purchased my second motorcycle, the first was a Yamaha PW50 when I was only 6 ha! Im hoping to meet with some like minded people in the future, learn more about the mechanics side of things as well as the best places to go in Victoria (I'm from the UK but moved here last year).
The bike I purchased is a 1988 Honda Steed VLX 400. I believe this to be the Asian version of the classic Honda Shadow but I'm positive all of you will know a lot more about than me! The guy before me has however taken the baffles out of the exhaust making it the loudest thing ever. That also means it won't be passing its roadworthy! If anyone has any tips on what exhaust to get and where to get it from I would appreciate it! I would simply like to pass the RWC no problems. I would also love to begin to learn more about this bike and its similarities to the Shadow. You can't get a manual anywhere in English it seems!
Also any advice where to get RWC in Melbournes inner suburbs would be great!
Looking forward to contributing to the forum.
Cheers!

Hey Parksey, welcome. I'm pretty sure drilling out the baffles on your steed is not a problem. I did it to a '94 VT600 and didn't have any issues with the pink slip.

Welcome!
You may find a manual in one of the other tech threads.
I would talk to you local fitters and ask about the legal requirements. I have read in the mean time you can use steel wool to dampen the sound. TBH I have no experience in the matter.
