You may have to remove the front off your headlight to change the globe.
Upon rereading this post my speedo is in the headlight so unless you have an aero your speedo is in the tank which means I gave out a half ar#$d answer unless you wanna change out the headlight globe

Iff it's in the speed housing I imagine you will need to take it off the tank to change bulb. Not sure but would think do. Should be some screws there to undo.

The speedo housing is mounted in the chrome cover on top of the tank. two Allan key screws to take out. The speedo itself is removed from the cover by a couple of screws behind the speedo. The bulb is actually an LED. Are you sure it's the lamp not working? Have you taken the connector off the temp bulb and shorted it to earth? that's the only way you are going to be able to test the circuit as it does not self test the LED when you first turn the ignition on like in a car. Rodaco Dave,i also read somewhere that it could be the temperature sensor [faulty]. cheers, spinal

Yeah Spinal, that's why I suggest to check out the warning light, by shorting the sensor connector to frame, to at least check that part of the circuit. Cheers, Rodaco
