Hi ya all! Time I changed my air filter. Has anyone ever cleaned one before? (joking). Nah, I am interested in the reusable air filters. Are they recommended? Any brands you prefer? Looking forward to your feedback. TIA

Looking forward to your feedback. TIA Hi ya Azure. Yes a lot use them here. The K&N filters are the most used . They are dear at first to buy but once cleaned at the prescribed intervals.they're worth the dosh. The cleaning kit you buy separate and one can get a few washes out of it . Simple process.has to be I did it . So yeah mate go for it . It.s stated they breath better than the std filter and I believe this to be correct .

The filters you will most likely have to get from a bike shop. Need the one to fit the VT. Honda dealer most likely or if you can wait a bit .good old eBay . Check your prices first . The filter cleaner can be purchased at any motor accessories shop. Super cheap.Telco.Autobarn. . Probably cheaper at these places than the bike stores or get everything from EBay.

Fleabay is easiest starting point? Then check dealers, then overseas dealers? Cleaning or recharging (as its called) Is easy as washing filter out with water and drying thenspraying a little oil, and letting it soak into filter and done ndusted.tip, dont use too much oil when recoating filer, otherwise it will sit in bottom of air filter cover? Probably the biggest spend , could be $ AU100 with recharge kit, but itwill outlast the bike.

The thing to think about is the ability of the filter to filter the air sufficiently and the amount of air that is allowed to pass through the filter to enter the engine. I am not sure if there has been a satisfactory independent filter test to determine if the price of the reusable filter is cost effective and can it satisfactorily filter the air particles from entering the combustion chamber.

Good point Steve . It,s ment to allow more air flow than the stock ,so. yes does it filter as well or more than the OEm filter . Well they say it does ,so one would presume there has been a test of some sort done ?
