Hey All, Just wondering if somebody can point me right. Have a 97 Shadow ACE 750 but lately it feels strange. Like on straight roads it dont feel secure or composed. cant really explain it. Going round a corner about 20-25 ks and felt the back slip or wobble as I was going around. No nothing about mechanical stuff just that not really confident riding it because it dont feel right. One more thing, I have this oil leak from somewhere but its shown as a line on the left near the stand...like in the photo, whoops photo is huge...not a tekhead either. So yeah, any ideas or suggestions on these would be great. Cheers. So

Hi freddy,If it is wobbling around corners ,jack it up and check steering head bearings, and swingarm bearings for movement, when jacked up see if any forward or back play on the front forks, or side too side movement on the back wheel. Not sure layout of your model bike but the oil leak is not coming from engine breather?or tappet cover gasket,Cheers

Cheers Croc.
Man the thing is wobbly even going straight, you know unsteady wandering a bit, like the steering feels off and the back dont seem planted. BUt seems to have happened all of a sudden like.
Mate cheers for the advice, dont have a bike stand so I'm maybe thinking of getting a mobile bloke out to check the bearings as well as give it a tune because its now really rough. I mean shes got 80,000 on her so stuffs probably just real worn.

Hi Freddy . Mate i,m with Croc there . Sounds like something loosened quite quick so check out those head bearing and your rear axle bolt. Also i,d check your tyre pressure as well. That will make things awkward in the turns and even in a straight line especially if you hit those tar snakes . I can tell when mine gets below 32 in the front . The bike gets lazy in a corner or pulls into those tar snakes . That oil leak isnt from the rubber hose between the 2 cylinders by chance . Hopefully not .

Another bit to check would be the shocker bolts as well as the shocker bushes at that high mileage lots of bits start going south but most are easily fixed mate.

Cheers for the advice and suggestions above. Had a squiz but cant see where the oil leak is must be up high somewhere but everything seems dry on the motor.
Anyway will get a mobile mechanic to check when I get back to Syd, cause not a happy place on the bike atm.
Will keep you posted in case it helps out others.
