Hi,
For those that don't know me my name is Steve Coe and my back ground with SRA is that I was the first Qld Co-ord and have been a member since the heady days of the SRA starting 2009-10.
I would like to make these points for those that wish to vote on the current issue.
1. You need to be a full SRA Member to Vote, that being you must have a membership number as issued by the National Secretary or National Co-ord
2. You do not need to be currently riding a Shadow but you must be a member as in point one.
3. If your partner or spouse is not a member as per point one, this does not give them the right to vote.
4. Please consider your vote as being for the person or persons most suitable for the role, one that will put the interest of all riders to the fore, one that will lead us to national or interstate functions, be prepared to attend/coordinate as many rides as they can for all members of Qld. 5. Above all else, we are Shadow Riders Australia, riders of the Honda Shadow M/C and all the various derivatives since it first appeared circa 1985, as well as VTX models, and as such I personally would expect our leader to be mounted on a shadow.
Other members may have views other than mine and that is their prerogative, but what I have listed are those of past State Co-ords and we have always lead from the front.
I'm open for contradiction, constructive criticism, and other input from members.
My vote will count, will yours? (Pauline is not a member)

Incase the comments in the above post are directed at myself I thought I should reply. I like the rest of SRA members are under no obligation to organise and lead rides but choose to as it is something I enjoy doing. Like those few SRA members that have organised rides I tend to run them in my backyard which is also my preferred riding area. I also organised rides to other areas such as Bundaberg as a payback to the SRA members that continually venture south to support rides, this ride was not well supported with just a handful of SRA members making the journey.
As stated in my post in the “nominations called for QLD state Co” Given that the QLD SRA family is distributed far and wide I would also like to see organised regular rides including overnighters so that we are all inclusive allowing all QLD SRA members to have regular participation in social events. Achieving these goals will require active contribution by all in leading rides and events. Whether it is myself or someone else as QLD SRA coordinator support will be needed in organising rides in your local area and supporting rides in the backyards of our
Yes it is true that my registration was not noted on SRA as a “full on member” but the administration of the records is not my responsibility and I have since learnt that about 40 membership applications were lost due to a computer crash. I joined SRA back in early 2013 and applied for and received my membership badge which is number 301. It should been 300 but it never showed up. I assumed it was lost in the mail but given what I know now it may have never been actioned. Since joining SRA I have been actively involved in all aspects of SRA from supporting the State Co’s, organising and leading rides in my local area and large social gatherings such as the QLD AGM. On occasion family and work commits and health issues have prevented me from attending some rides or events but this is unavoidable and I make no apology as this life. Those that have attacked me know that I do not back down or take a backward step from anybody. Those that know me know that I steadfastly support my family and friends and do not bitch about people behind their backs or get involved in cliques as in my opinion this type of behaviour only divides and destroys friendships as was evidenced when Doc was elected State Co. Yes I did have a VT 400 shadow and have since had two Boulevards, I also had a Nissan and bought a Toyota and I have had Holdens, Fords, Yamahas, Volvo and Kawasaki. I am not one eyed when it comes to machinery I buy what I like, is value for money and suits my requirements. What I am loyal to is my Family, friends and values.
Maybe steve is right and the State Co should be on a Shadow but in saying that in my thinking it is not the State Co’s role to lead all the rides, that’s where members should be helping out and organising and leading rides as I have done many times in the past. I see the State Coordinator’s role to be that of a planner, supporter, enabler to allow equal participation by all SRA members. In today’s technological age I also feel that the state Co should be computer literate have good riding skills and bike knowledge and a solid understanding of safety obligations. I was asked to nominate by Ray, to me this demonstrates that he has confidence that I am up to the task. I had some reservations about going forward but decided from discussions with Ray it would be in the best interests of QLD SRA. So in closing if supported in becoming the next QLD SRA State Co I will endeavour to build on the excellent work done by Ray to continue QLD SRA as the largest and most active SRA chapter. P.S. who's Pauline?

Just to clarify any doubt about Azza's SRA membership, I can confirm that Azza joined SRA in February 2013 as a Shadow rider and he purchased and received a membership badge. Prior to me taking over as SRA Secretary in April 2013, Rusty was handling all new registrations and memberships and his computer crashed losing some SRA data. He was able to recover most but lost a number of registration applications. It appears most likely Azza's was amongst those lost. I have backdated Azza's registration with SRA to February 2013 and although he now rides a Boulevard he meets all criteria as a full SRA member.
All current nominees for SRA QLD State co-ordinator are full members.

Hi,
Looks like I'm back.
I fail to see where I was attacking any individual in my initial post in this thread. Alas inferences can be taken from any post on any thread.
Oh, yes Pauline is not registered to vote.

This really Pisses me off, I ask a couple of simple questions and make my beliefs on what I would like to see in a Coord and I get personally attacked by a nominee. I couldn't give two hoots who spoke to you and supported your nomination, it was same guy that has been trying to get Spinal and Ken to nominate and take on the role, who also showed support to another of the nominees. I think you should look at the depth of what that support is.
Where you get the idea of I'm trying to undermine you run is pure BS, simple questions in an open forum, not a closed forum, small minds, small ideas. Your idea that I am having an ongoing furore with you is a storm in your little tea cup, anyone who knows me, will tell you what happens today is not tomorrows battle.
You run your little dream campaign and I wish you well, but I repeat you had no right to attack me.

I don't see where I personally attacked you, I simply clarified why some might not know who you are. You openly questioned my SRA membership on face book so I thought I would clear up that issue while I was at it. I also only stated my perception of your agenda with the lead post and your questions regarding my SRA membership. The only other mention of you is when I was in agreeance with your expectation.
I am terribly sorry if I have offended you in any way as that was not my intent, if the moderators believe I have been defamatory in any way please let me know and I will modify my post. Regards Azza

Bike Clubs are predominantly male dominated... Official roles are not given to women... We the SRA are not a club but a family of people who ride Honda Shadows (initially)... I normally keep my vote secret however I feel that with our help & backing - State Co Jules would push the fact that we are not a Club but a Family... My thoughts - go ahead & flame me...

Pommy Lee. I deleted your initial post. You can have your say, but that language is totally unacceptable.

Kandyman (Ken) and Spinal (Chris) have now withdrawn their nominations as joint State Co-ordinators. Those nominated are Aaron (Azza AB) and Jules (Trooper) For those who have already voted, you might want to reconsider under the current circumstances. As per my email, please email your votes to me. George National Co-ordinator.

Let’s put the record straight 1. I have Not ENDORSED any nominee for Qld State Co 2. I have Not Nominated any person to be the new Qld state co 3. I have spoken with all Nominee’s and have given them my word that I will support them should they request it with anything info I can, from organising rides to sending out emails to loading pics etc on forum 4. I have resigned at Qld State Co and have removed myself as an active member of the AUST Shadow Riders FB group and the forum, I am still an SRA Full Member, and would like to stay as a full member and maybe just maybe in the future Trish and Myself may join in on some of the rides but for the time being that is not an option 5. Trish did not and has not asked me to remove myself from the forum, AUST Shadow Riders FB page or to stop riding with the group, this was MY decision, she actually asked me not to remove myself completely Trish only wanted me to step down as QLD State Co and not lead any more rides ( ok she told me lol), but I chose to, due to circumstances which occurred as I would ask anyone that in those circumstances which occurred to leave the group , so if I would ask someone else then I have to follow my own conscience/ principles and do the same. 6. I have always been and most likely will always be an advocate of the SRA group even if I ever have another type of bike 7. Please do not mistake my word “SUPPORT” as anything other than it is, support to whomever becomes next Qld STATE Co 8. I wish only that whomever becomes the new QLD state co, all the best and hope all our SRA members (especially QLD) get behind that person and gives them the support I have received during my time as Qld state co. 9. Lastly, I do hope this clears up any and all concerns and puts a stop to all the in house bickering and personal attacks, we are here for one reason only and that is to RIDE and have good friends…… I have been lucky enough to have found that in the group and hope those friendships continue even though I am not an active member for now . 10. Lastly as Steve Coe said , Go Queensland Cheers Ray
