1953,year I bought my first bike (NSU)stationed in Germany,was 1955 before I drove/rode on the left. The bikes in the pics were some of the best bikes available then. my next 3 bikes were all either pre-war or ex wd,most I paid was 30 pounds(that one had a sidecar!),amazingly enough,in 12 years I never had a breakdown that wasn't fixed at the roadside, lot to be said for Amal carbys and magnetos.

I liked the part about the son's farther riding the son bike thinking the speedo was sill in k's per hour so thinking he was doing 160k's an hour and was doing 160 miles per hour. he was in his seventies .
