I was pretty chuffed with myself on Sunday, purchased a new drive chain and front sprocket off Fleabay earlier in the week and decided to do the job myself and save a few bucks. Had to grind 5 links off the chain, got it all finished and the obligatory test ride.
Abso"bloody"lutely covered in grease from A to B, snuck into the house passed Mrs Nobby, threw my clothes in the washing machine and chucked myself in the shower.
Came out of the shower and could here something banging around in the washing machine, being a front loader you can't open the door till everything is finished.
Chain & Sprocket spent $148 Doing the job yourself saved $138 Washing and having to replace your IPod spent $165 Cost of doing the job myself loss of -$27
Oh well I learnt 2 lessons How to replace a chain, and IPods aint waterproof

Some people are visual learners, some are aural learners, and some are kinesthetic (aka doers)...I'm guessing you are the kinesthetic kind. Any lesson learned is a step towards a greater understanding...and sometimes diminshing funds

sadly it's not the IPod I will miss, I can replace that fairly easily, it's the accumulated music I have begged, borrowed, copied, ripped and yes ... pirated that I am going to miss.
Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Aretha, Gladys Knight, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald
and you're right Wolfie .. I'm definately kinesthingie

Now see this is where the luck of Nobby kicks in, I had it all on my hard drive and my puta died, I have probably half of my old stuff saved on my new puta but as a lot of the stuff on my Ipod was copied it didn't recognise it when I connected to my new puta. Not too bad really, I probably had around 1100 tracks on the IPod and I still have around 740 on the puta, so I'm only down around 360 tracks. I will just have to start visiting old friends again and ratting through their vinyl collection. There is software that can copy IPod stuff, I think I will invest in it in case I wash another IPod
