Hi all
I'm going a different route with my bike bling. I'm looking to combine Carbon fibre (that bare minimalist raw look) with Chrome accents (still love 'bling")...
I'm looking to convert my cruiser into a "modern-bobber"
I'm looking to convert my cruiser into a "daily ride/comfortable" bobber as I like the bobber minimalist look. I'm not going pure bobber as I want a usable daily rider bike. As part of my 'minimalist' bobber look I've thus, decided on carbon fibre & chrome.
A/ Carbon fibre has a coolness to it
B/ Carbon fibre has a minimalist - raw style
C/ I still like 'shiny' Chrome
D/ Shiny Chrome and black Carbon firbe go well together
I'm using 3M automotive carbon fibre wrap as it is designed for vehicles and has a 20 year outdoor UV guarantee. It's easy to apply but near impossible to remove. I trashed 1 $30 sheet just in learning how to apply it properly.
Anyway... here are my results so far (This is a work in progress) so I'm after comments on the carbon look??
Both side Fuse & tool covers are done.
My plans:
I'm thinking of Carbon fibre bobber style front mudguard (keep chrome front parts remainning lights etc), rear bobber style mudguard (keep chrome rear brake light, indicators etc), fuel tank (keep chrome speedo & fuel cap) finish with chrome drive shaft & swing arm covers.
Also Black anodised highway bars and anodised black gears shifter & brake pedals etc)
What do you think.... I know a lot of people like the "more chrome the better" and I do to... but I'm just looking for something a bit more original, fresh and modern but still retaining the 'bling"
Any comments ( good or not so good welcome)
Cheers, Pete
