Just thought I would share some general info on riding in or through the ACT.
The reason I returned to riding here is the amount of traffic. It's like a giant country town here with most drivers being very courteous and motorcycle aware. This of course is only ruined by the transient component of the workforce here. As you can understand Canberra is full of drivers from other states so a a general rule we tend to be more aware of the interstate plates. The drivers here will generally allow you to feed in and will make room for
You on the road. I also put this down to this town being home to a major motorcycle club and most people here are aware of their presence on the roads.
On that note you should be aware that vests with club logos or logos of any kind are not looked at kindly by the members of this club so if you do have permission to wear it my advise is not to.
The best part about riding here is the comradely shown by all riders here. You can tag along with most social groups out for a ride and there are quite a few around here.
These include.
Canberra Riders : canberrariders.org.au
The MRA
Ulysses club of ACT: who do not wear their patches in ACT
Fat Bastards cruiser club
Just to name a few.
Like I have said in a lot of posts prior to this one I am happy to help if you need anything here in the ACT. I look forward to catching up with some of you soon.
