Sorry it is so long but I thought it worth sharing
A few days ago I went as I often do to the Woodford bakery for something to eat around 9.30am There are usually bikes there most days so it you can enjoy the bikes while you eat. On this particular day there was an older gentleman in riding gear having a cup of coffee and a break we started talking . He said that morning he had ridden from the Gold Coast through Brisbane and over Mt Nebo ,Mt Mee and to Woodford (about 3 Hours) where I met him . He told me he did not get out on the bike much as his wife had to have a full time carer. I mentioned to him that I rode a Shadow he said ” ahh a cruiser man they are not for me I rode a sports bike until about a month ago when I got this bike “ his bike was a BMW 650 or similar size He told me that he had put 4000 klms up on it in the time that he had it ,and about the near miss He had with a car near Kenilworth the day before . After that he said to me with a look of both real love and sadness(for her illness) had been married to his wife for 65 years . If you work that out even he got married when he was 15 years old the Gentleman was at least 80 years old and you could see he had 2 loves in life his Wife and motorcycling How long will you ride for ??
