 yeah Mudd, It's senseless and gutless, my thoughts were with the innocent victims and families of the victims whilst I rode today... Lets just hope that no-one else will do this cowardly gutless act..

The gun lobby in the US is bloody strong and pulls a lot of political weight, but maybe President Obama might be the first US president to actively promote laws restricting firearms. As this is his second term in office and he can't be re-elected he has nothing to lose and every thing to gain.
The kid who did the shooting was 20yr old, his first victim was his mother, and it was her 4 guns he used... why the F*** does anybody need 4 friggen hand guns.

Damn all these NRA members who claim it's the individuals fault, not the gun. They will never be enlightened or educated. The killers mother was the one that bought the weapons that were used to kill her, her colleges and 20 innocent children in her care.
The stupidity of these people makes me so angry, and the tragedy caused by their choices makes me so sad.
If John Lennon was alive today, I believe he would add a verse to his classic song. It would start "Imagine no gun owners, I wonder if you can".

4 guns? how do you fire four guns at the same time in self defence?
there are dob in lines for illegal immigrants, why not one for persons seen to become mentally unstable.

I think the big problem is that as far as guns goes in the US , the genie has been out of the bottle for too long (200+ years of the "right to bear arms") .. it would be impossible to do anything effective about it now no matter how many of these senseless acts occur. Just be thankful we live in a more enlightened society in that one respect .

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. CBS, Fox, NBS and more have plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
