Hi People,
Have notice 2 issues on the 97 shadow and hoping somebody might be able to point me in the right direction
1. Quiet ting ting (metallic sound) coming from the front area maybe whenn when riding, cant seem to pinpoint the source.
2. When going slow like doing a U turn I hear/feel something coming through the handlebars. There is a noise but a bit like a crushing/ gravelly noise. I dont hear it when going straight ahead.
I had the bearings checked and mechanich said they were fine.
Not being real specific here because its all kinda general odd sounds that seem to be coming from the front.

For mine mate i,d jack up your bike so as to let the front wheel spin free . Rotate the wheel and slowly press on the front brake . Usually a gravelly noise could mean some gunk in between your caliper and pad . Should even hear by rotating the wheel by itself. Wonder you mechanic never said that . Iff thats it ,spray some cleaner in there or pull them apart. Riding in crudy weather will do it . Which bearings did he check ,wheel bearings or your head steering bearings. I know my top head steering bearings have come a bit loose on one occasion . Sure as hell made a diff when they were fixed . Mmmm just thought also ,double check your headlight and fittings are all secure . Have heard of a loose bulb annoying people with odd sounds . Others may have a different verdict to help you out ,but thats my 2 cents worth . Cheers Ray

Cheers Ray.
I should have mentioned I recently had the fron disc and pads changed and yeah there was gunk there but it was cleaned up.
Might look at the front wheel pressure because I noticed pushing the bike around the garage there is a bumpy feeling in the bars that feels like its coming from the front wheel.

Mmm you may of found the prob then. If the tyre has been flatish you may be getting some flat spots on the tyre . Also when cornering it may be touching the gaurd .There isnt much room there .
