A look at the AGM Dubbo 2013

Hi Guys !!!

I thought I'd start a new thread for the post Eastern States Meet to show what we got up to this weekend.

I need to say some thanks to the people who made this event happen;

Rusty, you made it all happen if it wasn't for you setting this up as an event we never would have had this opportunity, not to mention that if you hadn't have decided to start up a web site all those years ago then none of us would be here today and have met all these wonderful people ... Thanks Rusty!!

Steve and Ray ... this is your child, you guys started the ball rolling on this event, it was dissapointing that you couldn't make it this time, but know guys that you were thought of and Cray and I thank you both for getting this event started ... Thanks Steve and Ray!!

To everyone who made it to Dubbo for the weekend .. huge thanks from Cray and I for coming along to our home town and having a great time with us. Without such a great bunch of people this certainly wouldn't have been the success that I feel it has been .. Thanks everyone who came to Dubbo (you know who you are )!!!

What a great weekend, possibly the best weekend I've ever had (cept my wedding ;D ). Had a ball meeting some great people who are just so freindly and facinating ... oh I could go on forever ...but

First the report ....

Friday people started arriving earlier than I thought they would. I had a bit of a mad rush to make sure I had everything ready to roll then headed over to the Holiday Park for the welcome BBQ only to be greeted at the entrance with the sight of the first of many Shadows. As I made my way through the park to the BBQ area the sight of Shadow after Shadow parked beside cabins was pretty awesome.

We took it pretty easy to start with, just relaxing and saying G'day


Rusty and his brother having a chat with Saddo and I think you can just see the top of someone's head there, (if you recognise that head please tell me who you are!) this is also a great shot of the back of Pete and Happycamper's heads.

I have a new camera and I thought I'd try it out that night .. not many of my shots turned out, usually the best ones are the ones of the backs of people's heads. Anyway it wasn't too long before more people started turning up.


Happy had to pose with his sexy shorts that MRC thought were a bit amusing.


The one photo that turned out perfectly, I think it's cause Chrisso and Nells are just such wonderful people.

There was soon only one person who still hadn't made it to Dubbo, Louie. After a couple of phone calls back and forth and still no sign of Louie, Rusty and couple of the guys decided to ride out to intercept him.

A couple of the guys helped get the cooking going before people started gnawing each others arms off ....


Saddo doing a great job cooking the hunks of meat that were to be fed to the hoards.


I'm not sure what Cliff was doing .. but he was good at it ;D

At this stage Louie called again and said he was at the edge of town, nope he hadn't seen Rusty and the boys. Hmm ... I called Rusty and gave him the right directions this time then headed out to see if I could find the lost sheep.

We brought everyone safely back just in time to help eat and get to know a few more people. It was a great way to end a busy day .. lots of happy people ready to start having a great weekend.

That was the end of the first meeting, the next morning was going to be full of action and adventure .... and a General Meeting .. yeah even that was fun

Ah yes thats the go Annastasia. Once again top job my friend . Thanks for the grats but you guys did all the work to formulate the weekend . If not for those that attended and the people who put themselves out to organize things ,the weekend would of been no where as good. To you all a great pat on the back . ;D
Looking forward to more pics here and some more great write ups. Some of our lads and girls are in Armidale tonight and Goondiwindi as well so they are getting home

The first day of the action dawned bright and sunny ... and slightly warm.

Breakfast was at the Village Bakery and the bikes were nicely lined up demanding people to take photos.



And the people were hungry again


Once inside there was a line up at the coffee counter

Everyone got comfy upstairs for a nice breakfast


Ace decided to give me a bit of my own back


The lovebirds Johnboy and Bel got a table for two in the sun ...


Ant and Ace were just having a good time


Next on the agenda was the AGM at the Dubbo Zoo ... everyone stopped for the obligatory bike shot.

After a very smooth first ever general meeting we headed to the Zoo's cafe for a relaxing lunch



And to do the first draw for the Poker Run that was next on this exciting day of adventure.

That's it for tonight guys .. tomorrow I'll give you a bit of a run down on the Poker Run. Sorry I didn't get as many pics as I normally do, I was snapping whenever I thought of it but to tell the truth it was such a busy weekend there were times that I just didn't think of the camera. Tis Ok tho cause I saw lots of camera out so I'm sure there will be plenty more pics showing up.

Hope you all have either arrived safely home or at least to your first stop for the night and are kicking back relaxing now, or snoring ;D

Annastasia, thanks for the photos and commentary for the Dubbo AGM. Makes me doubly sorry that I had to miss this great event.

To all that got this to happen (ya know who ya are I can only guess at a few) it was an amazing trip even thou I missed parts of it. It was all good. Still buzzing... so is that the WEEKEND or the vibe from being on a bike too long lol... I say the 1st... take care & thanks again all... trips to be planned... So many 1st for me this trip I think I got me cherry popped LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

The Poker run got off to a good start with a line of Shadows threading their way out of the Zoo.



There were a lot of Shadows following me through Dubbo ...



After a rather spirited run up the highway we stopped to gather together at Guerie



This was the first time I've led a ride and only the third group ride I've ever been on, so after a tip from Rusty I think I got my act together a bit more. And then led the group onwards across the back roads to Ballimore.



The sight of all those headlights in my mirror was kinda awe inspiring.



I couldn't see the end of them and I was just glad that Cray was back there to help if I lost anyone.



Was an interesting bit of road, with a few nice corners and a couple of interesting causeways, very empty at the moment.




We did lose someone, Pete decided to empty his saddlebags along the way. But he had plenty of help and the last few of them arrived at Ballimore not long after us.



There were Shadows all over the place.

Then the crew sat back and relaxed looking at the view ....

Cray and Cliffy found a quiet corner all to themselves



On the road again, and it was a nice little country road that took us to Wongarbon for the next stop.



I'm not sure what story Pete was telling, but Im sure someone was listening to him.

After a brief visit to Wangarbon it was back onto the highway to Dubbo and the camping park for the last stop and a short rest before we headed to dinner at the Westside Tavern just up the road. Where we enjoyed great food and even better company.

After such a packed Saturday, Sunday would have to be a day of rest right? Wrong .. Sunday the guys had a whole new experience planned for them!

After a quick brekky at various places and some group shots that I hope someone will post later cause I didn't even think to get my camera out, we headed down to the river.

Then the girls from the Outback Dragons got us all organised to go paddling.



Not that kind of paddling MRC!!



Yes that kind of paddling, that's Susy at the side there who somehow managed to pull the guys into line.



Our first view of the boat that was going to carry us down river, but first had to be towed down to the river.

That's where my pics of the boat end, I was busy trying to keep up with the crew, actually I knew I had no chance of keeping up with them, I just wanted to not get left behind ... or fall in the water!

The Outback Dragon crew were great at looking after us and made the whole experience fantastic fun for the rest of us 'boofheads' and I dunno bout anyone else but even though I was feeling a tad tired at the end of it, the grin on my face was wide!

As I thanked the girls for taking us on they said to me that we were the best novices that they had ever had along and we were welcome to come back anytime ... well done Shadow Riders!!

After that it was time for the second ride of the weekend, I have to admit that I was exhusted so I gave this ride a miss, but I did catch a few pics as they left for the Minore run.



Everyone waved for the camera, but well I guess my button finger was tired too, I missed a lot of the waves.























I heard the ride was great, led by Terry (his first time leading too ) I went home and did house work ... nah I went home and sat down for a couple of hours to try to recouperate from the strenuos mornings work. Next was lunch at the Milestone Hotel. More on that soon

Ok this is the last one. Lunch that Sunday was at the Milestone hotel.

We hung out on the balcony overlooking the carpark, still there was a nice breeze



And good company



Then it was down to the cellars for lunch





Or was it a dungeon?



It was Ok tho cause there was cake





And that's pretty well it from me. We had dinner that night at the West Dubbo Bowling Club and said our goodbyes then as people were leaving early .. or late but that was the last time the whole group was together. Oh Cray said seeya's to everyone too .. I didn't forget yay

All that was left for Cray and I was to see Pete and Louie off in the morning ...

First Pete had to do some running repairs





Bye Pete!!



Then Louie had to get a new tyre or two



He had a bit of a wait so we took him to our favourite cafe for brekky. Before too long he was ready to head off too
