Hay Ray. Thanks for the link. Very helpful as I've just bought a front light bar with spots and indicators for my shadow. I have just spliced the spots directly to the high beam circuit on my bike but I know running them through a relay is the better way to go. This gives me an alternative to consider.

Hey George, the danger of not running extra lights with higher wattage through a relay, will be to burn out the contacts of the lighting part of the starter switch. There not made to carry the extra load and often what happens is they distort and melt the plastic retainer with the extra heat. David. (And Ray, did you pinch that web link off the information I sent to Brian?)

Hey rodaco, thanks, yeah, gave it some thought overnight and will run the spots through a seperate relay. Its not expensive or hard to do, but if it turns to crap, then it could be an expensive fix if it all fries. thanks again, take care.
