just got a message from troggy...this time on a mountain bike during a ride with his mates....cut and paste from his facebook site ...
"Even as a 46 year old I continue to learn new things every day...today's lesson: The back wheel of your mountainbike has broken spokes and is in the shop to be fixed...so your friend who you ride with loans you a wheel..this wheel has a weight weenie 1.95 low rolling resistance type tyre on it...So now Im flying down Mercury St having a ball just beginning to notice a slight lack of rear end grip compared to my normal Maxxis 2.35 and get slightly off line, a dab of rear brakes here would normally be a good thing however with this tyre it was goodbye grip, goodbye rear end...hello tree... After I managed to stand up again and have a quick look at how much skin was gone and how much blood was leaving me I thought I'd at least hobble back over to the bike and formally introduce myself to the tree I had just met so that it would at least remember the name of the person who it had accidentally f&*cked. Yep, Ive lost some skin and blood and really done my back an injustice...not fun moving or driving. ..see how long this takes to heal and learn that every tyre has a "limit of adhesion"...try not to go beyond it in future..."
Injuries include but not limited to lower back & hips may be slightly out of allignment....he will detail his injuries when he gets the chance....
Get well soon troggy .....
