Just fitted a new rear tyre,Bridgestone, cost $150.00 from Honda, fitted it myself as they were charging $50.00
to fit it.Last one did well, fitted on 11/12/12,and lasted 17000kms. tyres for bikes quoted $229.00,so checking around

Hi moe, I can't believe that motorcycle tyres wear out so quickly, the tyres on my car last about 80-100,00k's. I hope it's the type of compound they use for bike tyres and not just a way of inflating the price of bike tyres. BTW, the reason I am writing this so early in the morning is that I can't sleep...hate it!

Hi Steve,Worst case was a Dunlop rear which only lasted a bit over 8000k's. As fo r mileage, its a choice between "sticky"(soft) and longevity,(Hard) thats why I've standardised on Bridgestone as they are a reasonable compromise for my riding needs.anything over 12000 is a bonus. Ray,you should be able to do a better deal than that, unless they are Metzelers,I paid $150.00 for the rear, and quoted $129.00 front,(not fitted),and we usually pay more for freight, and that was from the Honda dealer,If you fit your own make sure the dot is at the valve,I had a bit of a run yesterday and didn't have any vibration,so the balance is ok

Hi Louie,There's a clearly marked dot, about the size of a fingerprint,on the sidewall. This is the balance mark, and needs to be in line with the valve,if there are any weights on the wheel, leave them on,only balance probs, were once when they were fitted by the dealer, and had to be re-done. If the wheels are painted it pays to use rim guards, and handy to have someone to lift the wheel when putting the axle back in.
