Grabbed my first on-bike storage option today with a MotoDry 12L expandable tank bag. What I do like about this particular one is that it has a clear plastic top which can house my iPhone with swipe friendly plastic. Came with a waterproof cover and backpack straps which I'm unlikely to use. Doesn't seem to impede performance or viewing/comfort so all good at this stage. Hoping to give it a full test run on the 21st ride to Boonah area. Enough storage for my rain pants, phone, neck warmer, vegemite sandwich and some spare undies Opted for this over a rear seat bag so I can remove it when I don't want to take anything on a short run. Good start to a modified bike Myoman. Think they have the clear top so as you can read a map. Been told you need a map when MRC leads. . No he, s not that bad. Hope to be there next weekend.

Careful Ray, I heard that the person who leads the most rides onto dirt is the one that gets all the ribbing bout getting lost .. wonder who that would be Yeah I went the tank bag route recently Myo and love it, one of the best things is you can just pull it off the bag and it's smaller than most backpacks to take into where ever you are going.. shopping, lunch ect. Like you I got the straps but dont think I'd ever use them .. actually I cant remeber where they are and only had it a couple of weeks.

The guy from Pro Honda recommended putting a custom cut piece of thin chamois underneath the bag (wet first then place on tank to dry to shape), apparently avoids dreaded scratching from small particles picked up by the magnets over time...anyone done this??

l used to do that , l have a larger tank bag l bought when l first started riding on my virago, and l was careful not to throw the magnetic side down on the floor etc, kept it covered and wiped it over before l put it on my tank. they are great, l prefer a bag behind me now, *lazy pants* carrying bags around with me, wallet and phone, l usually grab out of it if l leave the bike, l figure if they want my vegemite sammich and undies, then they must be desperate! haha.
l like you bike too by the way, they are great! to ride, a different position then mine etc, l had one a few months ago for the day and went trapizing out tamborine, bearded dragon pub, umm boonah? canungra and all over the place, l found it strange when l had to stop for roadworks and it was on a slight hill and slant, had to slide one side off to touch the ground *my legs grew short* it was great to ride for the day though, fun through the tight corners on tambo mountain

Not a good feeling. Was interested to see some earlier posts on custom seat height mods might check it out when time and money permit.

what about an extra layer of rubber on the bottom of your boots? sounds silly but a few ladies that have less legs then God intended hehe, have an extra layer put on and its worked out really well and thus saving some dollars on motorbike customing $$$

Generally ok can sit flat footed on most terrain. This was a genuine case of operator error!

And having seen some of the cool custom seats might be fun to look at this option.

Hey Myo I got my seat customised by a guy who does stuff like that in his back shed here in Dubbo, cost about $200 and I got exactly what I wanted, it's pretty darn comfy and looks great though I have to admit I haven't done a long ride on it yet. Have a look here hondashadowriders.proboards.com/thread/2432/soloOh yeah I hear ya bout the little cash thingy .. I have sooooo much still to do and damn it my stomach keeps demanding food .. why cant I live on the thrill to ride BTW I love your bike, Cray's is the plain old metalic grey one. That paint job is a tribute to someone isn't it?

Like your seat definitely got me interested in a custom saddle. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Spencer

thanks Myo, been wracking my brain the remember who it was. The guy did some nice things with seats like yours but having been a pillion on Cray's RS I'd be inclined to suggest something softer
