Yeah I'm more of a spur of the moment type person normally Tex. If it starts as a nice day I'll go for a ride, it just gets a bit harder when you are trying to get more people available at the same time.
So with all that in mind ... let's say two weeks from tomorrow .. Sunday the 1st of December. Let us know if this doesn't suit. Once I've heard from more people I'll stick up a new thread.

sorry to hear about the ride cancellation, hopefully it will work well on the 30th....
at the risk of highjacking this thread ( not meaning too thou' ).. to get a bike license over here it works like this.
1. u decide u want to ride a bike. 2. u go down and do your written test. ( this gives u your "L" or learners ) 3. u then book yourself into a riding school to get an instructor to teach u how to ride ( or use someone with 4 yrs or more with an open license to teach u ) 4. after you have done enough lessons, book yourself in for a test ( providing the instructor reckons u are competent enough to pass the riding test ) 5. pass the riding test & now u have an R-E ( or LAMS class license ). U used to have a 250cc class license not LAMS.
with this process u are more inclined to go to a riding school & be taught how to ride properly before your let loose in the traffic by yourself.
After a further 12 months you are then elledgeable to go for your unlimited ( R class ) license.
This process sounds better to me, than to let a learner loose on the roads with no coaching on how to ride...
louie.
PS:- when u have your R-E there is no speed restriction, ( & no P plates displayed unless this is your first class of license ). As in if i have a car license then go on to get a bike license u don't need to display P plates unless u are still in the normal P plate part of your license , & since you are under instruction whilst on the L's you don't need one there. ( i think our learners have a 100k restriction thou', but am not real sure )
PS:-2 sorry again for highjacking the thread..

Damn hijackers.....
Here we do a 2 day pre-learner course to teach basics. Earns you a pretty green piece of paper which the RTA appear to be fond of. They have you do a knowledge test, admire your green piece of paper, take some money and let you loose on society.

Yeah it was dissapointing Louie but the best thing to do .. anyways I hope we can get it together for the 30th.
Yep what BDR said but .. all that is only in the bigger centers .. out here in the sticks it's still a case of jump on and off you go .. no one runs courses out here. So have to agree with you bout it being better to get some instruction first but as the courses are run by private providers not RTA it's not likely that there will ever be courses run in small centers, not enough money in it. Instead out here you tend to learn to ride on the farm bike when you are a wee one .. unless you are an imigrant like me .. then you just have to wing it.
