170x80x15 bridgestone excedra, sounds like I got ripped off,,was $250 for tyre $70 fit Ouch normally if you take just the wheels in its much cheaper $20-30 buckaroos, but if that was the cost of just the wheel swap then OUCH.

Hi Blackshadow I have an '04 750 Shadow and on the back I run a 170/80 B15 Michelin on a standard rim for the '04 and I don't think you can go much wider without some serious modifications. I believe the '04 was the start of a new series so my information might not help. Cheers ... Mark

Pretty sure I have read somewhere a 180 Will just scrape it in. Though I think that was on a later model . Cheers Ray

A couple of responses i found in the search engine mate. Would seem the 170 may be it .Still looking however . "The fat arse kit for a vt750 runs at 3k U.S for a complete kit but you need a chain drive vt750 to do it there was a post I saw about modding a vtx rear rim onto a 750 rear hub allowing you to run a 200 tyre on a shafty, this mod I am thinking about if I can get a 750 cheap, just gotta convince the war department is all." www.hondashadow.net/forum/72-technical-discussion/138107-wider-rear-tire-06-vt750-aero.html
