Hi Wendy W. I don't think there are any SRA rules as such. Simply put we are Shadow Riders Australia. We ride Shadow's but we do welcome other bikes on our rides, because they are usually family and or friends. We have many friends with many different bikes who ride with us and some register with us, but uniquely we are still Shadow Riders Australia and the majority of our members want that. They want that individuality. Casper's poster is great initiative. As discussed at our AGM there are many cruiser clubs, many other individual clubs, some are specific to brand, some don't care, but most of our riders register and join with us because they ride Shadow's or they are family/friend of someone who rides a Shadow. Personally, and this is me, if we became a group of anyone with any type of bike can register with SRA, I would withdraw my membership and resign.

I specifically asked to be shown the rules as this post on Facebook claims there are
"Spinal Chris Wilson Casper ShadowRider have just been on the forum and the rules have been laid down must have a shadow to be a full member to vote etc"
I believe as a badged member Cas & I are entitled to vote at the AGM and as neither Cas or I had Shadows or knew any members when we signed up this statement seems to be an untruth. If there are rules laid down on this forum, so be it. I just asked for direction to read them. I agree that Cas should have found away to get his idea to you before posting on either Facebook or the forum for comment. In his enthusiasm and belief that the committee would check out the post too, he thought he was doing the right thing. Sometimes the 83 voices forget to check with me first lol. I will ask him to remove his post from both locations and this will inturn remove all the chatter along with it.
However this seemingly simple post of "what do you think of my poster idea" has turned into a bit of a "Witch Hunt" excuse the pun.
Debate is always a good.

Hey Wendy, Personally I dont think he should take down his posts, they are valid posts and they have some valid answers. I dont actually see anyone 'witch hunting' his post about the poster, there is just some objection to the particular wording .. hence the reasoning for taking stuff like this to someone on the commitee first .. would have stopped a lot of those replies. As far as rules go .. nope I've never seen any rules and I think that what we all have to remember is that this is an 'owners group' not a club. Why would we need rules? We are here because we like the other people here and share a passion. Yep you and Cas both didn't have Shadows when you joined, Cas was acepted with open arms because even though it wasn't an actual shadow, it was still a baby version that was just waiting to grow up .. not to mention he has that passion I mentioned, you joined through Cas (correct me if I'm wrong here) and also sharing that passion. Yep I think it's a pretty lose interpretation but that's what it's all about, acceptance. And honestly this group talks about their Shadows, why would someone who has a passion for their V-Star or Kwaka really be interested? That's what it's all about and I really cant see the big deal. Having said all that .. I dont know what's going on on facebook, are things being taken out of context when someone posts on another medium about a post on the forum .. I dont really know. Like you said though .. debate is good

I forget that some forum members are not, like yourself. on facebook and some facebook members are not on the forum. We have deleted the post from facebook as it took a downturn there, but all I just wanted to do here was clarify the comment above and read up myself. I have also removed the .pdf copy from here and we will leave it there.
The "Witch Hunt" was not on the forum
Cheers Wendy.
See you in Mudgee.

Anyone that wants to hold a position or vote at the SRA AGM must be a SRA member not a forum member. Everyone is more than welcome to post ideas but don't expect anyone to agree. Some idea are good just not right for us. I like the way it is, when I don't I will move on not change its

I believe anyone that wants to hold a position or vote at the SRA AGM must be a SRA badged member. All SRA members have a badge. This is why I call them Badged members. As we both are.
It was stated that the rules where "laid down" in the forum, I was simply trying to find them. As my membership would seem to be in contradiction of these perceived rules.
We are not trying to make a change here, just assist in promoting the group locally as our numbers are very small.
Cheers Wendy
