I'm not very happy tonight....so am a little on the ranting side.
I dropped my bike of for her 6 month service today.
Picked her up this arvo, and before I left did the usual look for damaged areas.
Well, as usual, there was a scratch where I was pretty sure there was none previously and some loser had reversed it into the brick wall and bent/scratched up the number plate Thankfully the number plate was there and so it missed the number plate light housing and rear guard
There were also oily finger prints all over it
Clearly we weren't happy, so the manager guy comes out and we tell him about the number plate and he reckons they can 'fix' it ie straighten and touch up paint (the maroon border got scratch off on the corner).
And to top it off the 'service' consisted of an oil and filter change and a dozen 'checks' (like I dont know how to check the lights all work) and for that privilege I was charged $232. Now I realise they are a business, and that's probably the going rate for a services amongst bike shops, but it has really left me feeling quite annoyed.
The really annoying thing, was that whoever did it would have had to have notice they backed into a wall, seriously, when I sat on her and lifted her upright it made an almighty sound as it scraped again. And they didn't even have the courtesy to tell me, probably just thought I wouldn't notice till I was gone.
Anyway, Im going to give her a clean tomorrow, poor thing
Don't some people understand, our bikes aren't just bits and pieces of metal, but a very important part of our life and that's why we take such care of them.
Rant over.....
