It strikes me that the honda shadow vt400 is exactly the same as the honda shadow vt750. Does this mean the engine would swap straight over?

Ooooh now you got me thinking, cheap way to upgrade a 400 by doing an engine swap.

Can the existing engine be made to be 750cc easier, or not? Note I am not very mechanically minded. . I heard somewhere they are the same engine, just sleeved to reduce cc's.

Question. Can the cylinder blocks be swaped? That way it's just like boring but pre done cylinders and pistons right?

Mmmm a more mechanical rider will have to answer that one . You say you want to keep the fuel injection ,well there will be 2nd injection models about i would think. They started from 07 in the Spirit and 08-9 in the Aero models. Cheers RAy

Yeah I was told its all the same other than piston size. Go up in licence and upgrade the pushy pumping bits and you'll get your bigger ride. Have thought about the potential for doing the same.

The answer to your question guys it that yes u can put vt750 top end on vt400 bottom end but u have to split the crank to put the 750 conrods in as they r bigger.
