G'day from Kal, the bad news, I still have to stay in hospital for 2 to 4 days the good news is the finger is looking better, it actually has some wrinkles on it, the shine is gone so the swelling is on the way down and I can actually bend the finger a little, we have more wi-fi so I can upload some photos  Yes that is looking better, the red bit in the white is where they cut a bit out (nacrotic) the white bit will fall off on it's own the blue line is where the infection got to in 24 hours the black bit with the 2 stiches is the original injury, the other cuts were made to wash out |

You cunning old soul - good effort convincing a pretty Doctor and her attractive assistants that you are suffering and need their caring. All jokes aside you are a very lucky man to keep the hand. Now, time to get Brenda and yourself home and back onto the bike - much safer than grey-nomading about the countryside.

I'm, free, I'm free (well at least I'm not cheap  ) I'm out of hospital, I have movement in my finger and on oral antibiotics, need to hang around to get the stiches out on Monday and probably head home next Wednesday |

Back in good old SA now (50 klicks west of Kimba tonight) should be home tomorrow (Saturday) wont be able to use the clutch hand for a few days though, but I'll work on it |

Home now and all is good I cleaned the wound and changed the dressing again yesterday (the hospital had given me all that I needed including the silver dressing) and most of the dead skin came off, only the fingertip remains, about 1/4 of the palm and also the back of the hand came off as well (skin that is) it's feeling a lot better although my hand is now 2 tone  , went to see a doctor today and she says though it looks infected most of it is still "viable" and removed a bit of necrotic tissue. the scars that the surgeon put in, on the finger and hand, have healed well and no longer need dressing, my finger is still swollen though, might take a few weeks to settle On a positive side, I weighed myself this morning and I've only put on just under a kilo since we left on the 1st of May, which surprised even me |

Hi Frank, Good to see you back home safe & sound(ish). I'm guessing that you won't make the GHOST riders outing to Cambrai next Sunday unless you join us in a cage?

I need to go to Norwood tomorrow, so I'll try out the clutch hand, if it's OK I'll give the GHOST ride a go, if not we might make it in the cage, either way I'll probably be tail end Charlie again
