Hello all bikeheads.
Seeking am I advice for a little issue upon my VTX1300. The lower exhaust pip have decided to make a hole underneath itself.
Problem first noticed abt 2 months ago. There is a growing amount of soot beginning to grow on the garage floor.
The local Honda techie said "she'll be right mate", and he says it would be due to rust.
Bike referred to is in storage, so his assessment was verbal only- hasn't had a run for a few months.
He said it won't affect performance.
If it should be repaired, what method of temporary fix is available?
The pips are original and the bike is 2007 model, around 40,000 km on the clock.
My ears are open to receive instruction.

Well hi Cray old mate . Would seem if it,s rust the pipes may be ready for god almighty. Could get some one however to tig up the problem ,hopefully this could be done on the bike to save a lot of work . Would require a small plate over the area i would think . A tadie can do this quite successfully providing the rest of the pipe surrounding this hole is ok . It would affect your performance iff left alone ,plus the sound would be annoying i,d expect . Mmm maybe a good time to get permission or just darlin to the good lady ""It,s time for new pipes ". Sorry ANNA but Cray would love a new set for sure . Cheers Ray

Hi Cray Don't forget, it is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
Cheers ... Mark

Are you guys kidding! If he buys them then I'll fit them for him in a wink of an eye ... The bike might need to be pushed to the mechanics to get fixed afterwards but I'm always happy to tinker with a bit of chrome!
