I'm off touring from Brisbane to Victoria & back in three weeks and would be glad of advice on a reasonable 'value for money' GPS.
Can't afford to get anything too fancy - something under $100.
Any advice anyone?
Thanks in advance.

The Tom tom or Garmin were a good unit but i think they would be out of that range, Sorry. Steve might be the go here or Mac, Simon Cheers Ray

Talked to SWMBO (the wife) and she suggested B W Stores ,they sometimes sell cheap good ones. Worth a try. Cheers Ray

Thanks Ray. Realised after I posted the message that I was in a scene from 'The Castle' - DREAMIN'! Did a bit of googling and getting anything under $300 or $400 would be a bargain. Under 100 bucks would be a miracle! By BW Stores, does Your Good Woman mean Big Dub? Will give them a go if so. Otherwise, will just stick to the the old fashioned ways - paper maps flapping in the breeze & just plain getting lost. Good way to get immersed in the 'local culture' anyway Thx Ray. L

ALDI had them for 150 bucks, sealed units for bikes. no blue toothe though did have an ear piece, would need to have a charging unit fitted to bike as when in use only last around 2 hours before recharging is required. Steve

Lisbeth Qld Club Lisbeth, on Ebay found:- cgi.ebay.com.au/4-3-GPS-Navigator-2009-Australia-NZ-3D-Maps-SpeedCam-/280432224176?pt=AU_Electronics_GPS&hash=item414b1027b0 for $89 buy it now, free postage from H.K., there are a few listed there for auction, well below $100 but you'd have to wait to see what the final bid was. Either way, you'd be lucky to get one to you in time before you go. Dick Smith has a $129 Navman GPS but that may as cheap as you'll get.

I have an ALDI one for two years now. don't use the ear piece just look at the map. no complaints. wired in easily enough.
You can see it below.
Work well with gloves and is water tight. I don't take it off in weather.

I wired it into the tail light circuit. Only powered when the ignition is on.

I have the ALDI GoCruise one too. Very easy to use and wired into ignition...I do use the earpiece in my helmet and that also works a treat...absolutely no complaints, and only paid $139.00 for it...as well as getting free Map updates from Naviextras...Can't go wrong, I say!

Steve Steve. I bought onefrom Aldi, but it came with the wrong size handlebar bracket & it wouldn't navigate, so it's been sent back under warranty. It does come with connection to your battery & keeps the cradle live for the unit. It also comes with Blue tooth so you hear nothing unless you connect that in your helmut.
