Over the holiday period I have had to make a very hard decision to hang up the helmet. Due to some ongoing and new health issues I no longer feel confident riding. I don't want to say oh yes just one more day or until the end of Summer. Even just the 10 minute commute to work has me worried, so I'd rather walk away while I still can.
The bike will be listed with all my gear shortly. I'm unsure about the AGM at the moment, I may still come up in the car, but if anyone would like a cabin let me know.

Hi Matt. It must be a very hard decision but your health and safety comes first and foremost. I truly do hope that you can overcome your health issues and Helen & I wish you all very the best. Now I'm not sure if you know the rules of joining SRA, but once you join it is near impossible to leave ( a lot like Hotel California!) You are our friend and part of the SRA family. You are more than welcome to to continue to be part of SRA and come to our meet and greet breakfasts and other events which may not involve riding. However, if we do ride to a destination for a lunch you are more than welcome to meet us at the lunch location. As far as our Christmas BBQ is concerned, where would we be with you and your shiny, smooth balls??!! Bocce has officially become part of our X-mas BBQ tradition. As for coming to Echuca for our AGoM, I do hope you decide to come, and if you need some assistance getting there, well there are a few driving up and there is always room for a passenger.

Thanks George. Unfortunately this is not something that can be overcome, but something that has started to develop and will worsen over time. Anyway I'll still try to get to as many events as I can, I just won't be on the bike. I had no intention of leaving the SRA, you're all like my crazy extended family.

Well Matt, that must have been a hard decision to make. If health issues are causing a lack of confidence, then you know it's the right decision. I admire the fact that you bit the bullet when you realized that you could be a danger to yourself and other road users. Congratulations, and, like George, I'm certainly hoping to catch up with you on a regular basis at club functions. Hope to see you on the 15th. I won't be there this week. Tony
