Hi Guys I was wondering if there is anyone that had a problem where their bike was sluggish under load when they throttled it. When in idle the thing revs like it should and sounds mean with the shotgun pipes, but the sluggishness (is that even a word if it isn't it is now and it is pattent pending ) was there with the stock pipes. Does anyone know what the problem could be. it happens through all gears, if anyone can shed some light that would be great, Also I found a place that does after market CDI's that up the rev limit and stuff, gonna try it out when I get it. I am going to go the road of getting it dyno'd also hopefully that works for it as well.

Doh!
Sorry cant help, Pams bike runs ok when I take it out, plenty of grunt from the littl sucker. If you're going to get it Dyno'd. I wouldnt worry too much until then, they will set you up right and tell you wot is need (I would think)

Putting pipes on bikes can affect performance as it can limit back pressure.. Make sure ur air filter is not restricted.... Make sure it doesn't have water in it... Also blocked carbs can do it aswell. Clean them out and see if that works. Also replace fuel filter blocked fuel filter can restricted fuel flow to the carbs.. Hope I helped

As above...but also check your air filter isn't clogged with oil and your sub air filter is not covered in in dust etc.

Hi all, I think my 400 is sluggish as well and it is still stock but has done only 700k's. I put it down to the fact that it weights 240kg, I weigh 110kg and the engine puts out what? 23kw? I have no idea but as it's a learner bike that's what I thought, I did think that it would go a bit better than it seems to, I am waiting to get on a ride with something similar and do a comparison Have fun, Pato

pato when you twist the throttle does the bike seem to "stumble"? This is what is happening to cilon.

No mine seems smooth enough, I just don't think it pulls like it should I do think it's a combination of weigh and power that makes it so. I'm looking to get out with something similar to get a comparison. (Any excuse for a ride out) ;D Have fun, Pato

Cool. Too much air will give you the same effect as not enough fuel. Glad it's all cool now!
