Riding along nicely, then motor started to cough and splutter. Eventually lost power then finally motor stopped running. The PGM-FI (Engine Warning Light) also came on. Bikes only 18 moths old with 9000kms on it. It all seemed to come unravelled in about 60 seconds. Battery has charge, starter motor ticks over, fuel in the tank but she just won't go. Bikes never been dropped, was travelling along a smooth asphalt surface, but I did have a flat battery two weeks ago. Recharged it and all seemed ok. Apparently not, parked on the side of the road now. Anyone else had this happen, any suggestions?

Mate check the battery terminals are tight also the fuses, I had a similar thing happen a few years ago in the middle of a ride, turned out the battery gave up the ghost. Got a jump start and had to keep the revs above 2000 rpm to get me home. replaced the battery and all good. Good Luck

Well I'll be buggered, loose negative terminal on the battery brought the old girl too her knees! Opened her up, tightened it up, started it up and she ran as smooth as a Shadow should. Seems it had enough contact for the starter motor to crank but must have been playing tricks on the engine management system. Great advice folks, much appreciated. Regards Mikey.
