Does anyone know if Honda will import their 2018 Honda Shadow Phantom VT750C2B? I’m infatuated with its look, and it doesn’t seem to be available here in Oz! And need to upgrade from Betty, who has been giving me troubles lately with a gremlin in her system. She’s a 2010 VT400,At perfrectly random times she won’t start...leaving me stranded at work or home. She’ll start again either hours or days later. Been to the mechanics on 5 seoarate occasions, where they’ve had her in the shop for over two months, and cannot replicate or locate the problem. Because, as always, she works fine as soon as a qualified person looks at it. So I guess my query is actually three-fold: Can I get the very beautiful VT750C2B in Aus. If not, any tips on wtf is wrong with Betty & how to fix? If not, anyone want to by me a Honda Fury as a very generous gift, or tatts tickets. Cherers, Zorb (aka WolfishGrin).

Hi WolfishGrin. Nice to hear from you. From what I have read on facebook it does not appear that Honda has any plan to introduce the Shadow Phantom into Australia at this stage. As far as your starting issue, I wonder if you might have either a slightly loose wire or some dirt in your starter switch and the vibration of the bike either loosens the wire a bit or causes dirt to get onto the wire at the terminal and it takes a while to settle down? Another thought is that maybe one of your battery terminals might be slightly loose of have dirt between the contacts? Anyway I cannot think of anything else that might be causing the problem and maybe others might have an idea. I would have thought that if you took it the mechanics, they might have checked the starter switch. Your third point, good luck with someone buying you a Fury. Your best bet is to buy a tatts ticket LOL. Good luck though.

Thanks gents!
Will give the clean a go!
Have bought tatts ticket, so hopefully either get to import the Phantom, or buy a Fury outright when I win...well, nothing wrong with dreaming!
PS: Yes, it’s been awhile since I’ve even visited this forum. Seems like FB covers almost everything that I almost forgot we even have this site as well. So great to have such quick responses.

If you were adventurous you could build your own phantom from a late VT750, some black powdercoating and a few bits! To import one you need to have it put through ADR approval which will mean different exhaust and speedometer at the very least.
I've never ridden a fury but I think the tank is way too small for a 1300, I don't imagine they'd have a great range or be particularly comfortable.
