The wife & I just got back from a week in Phuket. What a great place. Nothing to do but lie around in the sun & drink beer, life's hard ain't it.
We did the local thing & hired a scooter for transport, then toured the coast of the island from Rawai to Patong, stopping at the beautiful beaches on the way for a dip and refreshments. Man, they have no road rules here. Red lights mean slow, look then storm on through. 2 lanes mean 3 cars & 4 scooters abreast. Indicators are unheard of, and one scooter can carry an entire family.
Love it so much we have to go back next year.

Damn right I would, it was kind of our second honeymoon. If you.re going for a quiet time, I would recommend staying on the lower east coast of the Island as Phuket City & Patong on the west coast are very busy & touristy. We stayed at Serenity Resort in Rawai and the Royal Phuket Yacht Club on Nai Harn beach also looked very nice.
