Hey guys,
Just wanted to say O-haiyou gozaimasu...and gloat a little...cause that's how I roll
Have just one more sleep before we're heading off on a plane back to the beautiful land of the rising sun (where we used to live for 4 years). Going to catch up with family and friends we haven't seen since returning to Oz in May 2009, and get to show my almost 3 year old son where he was born. Though he'll probably be more interested in the food and looking at the good-looking girls....Thankfully, my wife lets us look and my son is in training to be a man one day ;D
My missus, my sumo-monkey son, and I will be spending the best part of two-weeks in Tokyo, with a little side trip inbetween to Okinawa soaking up the sun . My mouth has also been non-stop salivating since thoughts of genuine Japanese food have been floating in my mind the last few days, and I cannot wait to get back to the real cuisine ....which is soooo vastly different to what is offered in this country with the label "Japanese" attached to it (Especially since the westernised restaurants and sushi bars in Oz are usually run by Chinese, Koreans, and other non-Japanese). Of course, this will be coupled with "All-you-can-drink" nights and karaoke when we can get extended family to babysit the boy.
Anyway, making the most of my time off and discount fares with Qantas to take the family for a holiday back to our other homeland. It is a shame that while the weather seems to be on the improve during my rec leave, I won't get a chance to do any socal rides in VIC...but if I manage to squeeze one in in Japan, I'll certanly post pics (On Facebook...I have to say I'm very much over using Photobucket).
Hope all is well with you everyone, and you all stay safe in my absence...If I get a chance to post from Nippon, I will, but as you may guess it won't be one of my highest priorities
Keep the rubber side down peoples, and take care!
PS: Wish us luck - travelling with 2y10mnth old boy on a long haul flight may make us a few enemies with fellow travellers...it is an overnight flight so hopefully he'll sleep through most of it.
PPS: I know it's not a Shadow in the pic, but when I was at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2006, I wasn't taking pics of the motors;)
