Hey Kingy a great effort something no human should see...such is life dam I took my long service as I witnessed something similar ....never know when it's your time to go....that is life a pretty raw deal be proud you could help and now ask for help to work your way through this...each day will be just a little easier than the one before...I required professional help to keep me going...now 10 years on I think shit I wasted my long service when in fact work and friends are the secret to growing past this kinda shit...hang in there take care and don't hold it in....all the best Deb (offs)

Kingy, I had the misfortune to find two dead bodies in one day at the retirement village I was manager at. the sight (not pleasant) still haunts me (having never seen a dead body before) & someone has recommended to me I should seek counselling. I think that is a good idea, Maybe you should too, or that image may haunt you for a long time. On a lighter note I remember a fellow say he saw some accident with plenty of blood & all his medical training came back to him.......he put his head between his knees, so he wouldn't faint ;D

You did well Kingy! I've seen more dead bodies than I care to share, as well as people missing bits and whole lots of other trauma. I've also revived a couple on the way, which certainly feels better than losing them. I was also holding my father's hand and looking into his eyes when the light faded from his life too...and for that I consider myself lucky because many don't get that opportunity to say goodbye. I like to think that most people are actually capable of dealing with these things as they happen...I LIKE to think that, but the truth is most don't...as a species we are very resilient, but many are spectators. You've certainly shown you can act and make a positive difference when it matters. However, what's also more important is your own well-being and how you deal with it after the fact...and talking to friends, family, and sometimes relevant professionals is an important part of your own healing process (for you and your loved ones who care about your wellbeing). What you also need to recognise is that you have made a positive difference in someone's life when it mattered, and for that you should be proud! Now heal thyself, and get on with getting on!
