Woke up this morning and the bike won't start. Won't turn over. Hasn't been ridden or started since Monday. Any ideas? Also I'm not really mechanical.

It's starting to sound and feel like a battery. Does anyone know a mobile mechanic down the Mornington peninsula way?

Start with the battery, make sure the connections are clean and tight. The battery on my 750 gave up the gost half way through a ride. Make sure its fully charged. Its under your seat

Will start with stand down normally. It's in neutral Hi ben i would check your kick down cut off switch it should not start weather you have it in neutral or with the clutch in otherwise it defeats the purpose of having it as a safety switch.may be different on 2001 model but wouldn't think so,someone with a vt400 on here may know more, i just tried my vt750 with stand down bike in neutral and with clutch in and no way it will start. hope this helps some what. cheers, spinal

Well guys I went and tried it again while on the phone to a guy at Honda and he says its a flat battery. I need to go find a trickle charger and take my seat off. How do I take the seat off?
