Good afternoon to all at Shadow Riders Australia It is with a very heavy and sad heart that I write to inform you that I have decided to step down and resign as the President of Shadow Riders Australia, effective immediately. Unfortunately recent behind the scene events have finally taken their toll on me. When I took on the role of President I was hoping to continue the great work of our previous President and Founder Russell (Rusty) Strobel. It is a role that I took because of the passion I have for SRA. Sadly along with the job came a target on my back for a small group of individuals to stick the knives in. Over time that target has also been placed on my wife’s back. Without going into further detail, I just want to make it clear that it is the toxic work of a very small number of individuals who have their own agenda for their behavior, comments and actions who have led me to make this decision. Isn’t it sad when the silent majority of over 650 members of SRA are overshadowed by a small group of less than a handful who seem to be hell bent on being malicious on social media! It was also my intention to resign as National Secretary. However, this is probably unfair considering the AGoM is just around the corner, so at this stage I will continue in that role but I will not be re-nominating for the position. If anyone is interested in the position you can get in contact with me and I will explain what is required. I will also not be re-nominating as the State Co-Ordinator for Victoria. So perhaps the Vics can think about a replacement for next year. Best Wishes George Tapai

George, please do not do this you are held in high regards amongst a very large number of members. There are only a few small and norrow minded indervigals with nothing better to do with there lives then to spread lies and shit when things are not going there way or are not the centre of attention. I can't understand why these people are still allowed to be members or are allowed to use this site or the FACE BOOK site. I can tell you one thing if you resign I wll be leaving as well as I gather and know other members will to. And let's see these trouble makers trying to run the SRA, I am sure it will fall to shit really quick if they were to be incharge.
So lets all get behind George so this does not happen. As most would know to do this job takes a lot of personal and unpaid hours to comment to the time needed to do the job, so perhaps the knockers should sit back and shut up or put up.
Regards Spanner.

I can only reiterate the words already written here, this group would be a lot less if you do this mate, If you do resign George I will follow Spanner107 and resign also, I will stand side by side with you and any other group member should do the same.

I've never met you George but I know some of the work you have put in for this group and I believe it would be a major shame for you to walk away from this. I don't know what has been going on behind the scenes and only you can make the final decision about your resignation but I would like to add my two cents worth here and join in with the others saying that I don't want to see you leave, especially not under these circumstances. As has been stated elsewhere are the troublemakers able to be removed from the group and have their membership revoked and removed from the official SRA social media sites? I do hope you stay on as President. By the looks of it, there may not be many members left of the SRA if you do follow through :>

George, I may not know you as well as other members of SRA but I met you at the QLD AGM and you seemed like a good bloke easy to get on with. I will be sorry to see you go and so will a lot of other SRA members. We are all here for one reason and that was to enjoy other like minded people's company and ride our bikes. I hope you change your mind.

Well George, it's very disappointing to think that a few rotten eggs can bring all this on. Like most of us, I don't know what's going on behind the scene but I urge you to think about the Majority of members that support you and rely on the work that yourself and Helen do for the rest of us. I will stand with you and respect your decision, what ever you finally decide.

George it is not up to me to say don't do it, only you know how deep the hurt goes and as said by Saddo "Family First" We have never met except through the computer but I can sense your passion for the SRA
My comment may be removed because it is not politically correct but that's just me, I make no apologies for my thoughts, they are mine and you are welcome to take them in or ignore them
Due to a small bunch of cowardly arseholes who hide behind the anonymity of social media, we are going to loose a president who has done so much for this group, this is the beginning of the end of a great group (except for the few arseholes)

It a game of "he said, she said" right now and probably best left untill some sort of final conclusion can be agreed upon. It's serves no one to be pointing fingers.
Let the "elephant in the room" be how to we create a positive outcome from all of this.

I have been overwhelmed by the support shown by phone calls, emails and the SRA forum and (although I don't use it, Facebook!!). I have even received messages of support from people I have never met. For that I thank everyone and I cannot express how much it means to me. Please let me make it clear, I am not resigning from SRA. I am only resigning as the President due to the reasons outlined in my email. I will still ride with all my SRA friends and I will still attend the AGoM in NSW, I will still be an active, but just as an everyday member. etc. SRA will NOT collapse and we will not see mass resignations or anything dramatic like that. Shadow Riders Australia is a great group with many great people. I am currently working with others and I am very confident that some positive outcomes will be achieved that will see SRA grow bigger and better. Once again thank you.
And as Wendy Witch said above, there is no benefit in pointing fingers and naming names. All that will do is create conflict and division which no-one wants to see. Lets move forward and create a positive outcome.
